Rhtrudder: running a few seconds with ignition off is permissible, But Never with just the ignition leads off, it could damage the ignition system!.

And only seconds, you don't want too much fuel pumped through the system.

Changed my Delica oil (4x4) today, and I cranked it over without starting for a couple of minutes to make certain I didn't harm the bearings starting it up without oil pressure.

My MoslerMotor manual, says crank engine over for oil pressure before starting. ( no starter do it manually).

As a trainee it would seem odd, trying to use the left side of a single yoke, while the instructor holds the right side of the same yolk.

The Y stick seems more natural when holding from either side.

One very well known road in the NT, had for many years, NO speed limit and NO deaths. The Gods who rule us put in a speed limit & six died in one year.
