I wouldn't mind seeing more chopper's landing at reasonable sized parks, who knows might get kids interested in other things than what interest them now! (whats the landing fee for a chopper at anairport)
(larger area to allow frightened parents to get out of the way)

Insurance, It is both unnecessary & necessary at the same time. It does nothing to the actual cost of flying.

Hi
I sent a copy of my spreadsheet back to the author (m,holland) , don't know if or what to get in reply, but received nothing yet, But the initial aircraft outlay shouldn't be on the yearly input as
most owner's keep them at lease a couple years.

Even if it's the same plane, merely rearranging the landing gear to gain more speed. At least the HummelBird can be either nose or Tw.

WHAT!
No bites about throwing a couple 6 year-old kids into the trailer to nip down to the shops. Do they (the kids) have to have seat-belts or any other safety gear, in the trailer?.

AND the biggest cockup law-wise is children in poorly designed trailers (plural).

But a hella of price increase over the $5,555 with a motor, for the SportAir aircraft.

Hi Gimballock,
Here's a very neat one for you, at the price it's a steal.

Not by me Rick, good argument for ownership.
Gimballock! the Hummelbird's too small for you but the newer ultracruiser will fit your size, you'll have to check the hummel websight, or w3.flyhummel.c for the plans to suit.

Hi Bruce T
The 61mpg hummelbird is an American, has the standard two cylinder motor, hence the low fuel consumption, VNE is 140MPH cruise about the 100 mph,the three Wheeler's are a bit slower of course, but when you've learned to handle it with ease, it can have the main's reversed & remove the nose wheel to go tail drag er.

Searched but to no avail. Any chance someone taped it?.

I have used a lot of Absorbed-Glass-Mat batteries & find they don't last very long at all, before the Mat has had the electrolyte dried out,
used to say it was gravity pulling the water down the cell. The Flooded cell batteries cannot survive being over discharged many times.

WELL.
I didn't have a fat gut, before my collapsed disc, & i didn't have an accident either!.
Have to say I've got that fat gut Now, And it gets harder to live with as weight gets higher.
Possibly wouldn't be this weight now if I had a goal to aim for.

I did my back at work "lift 35ks from the right machine, weigh it, then do the same from the left machine, I lasted 7 years, "Lift and twist is real bad".
When the back plays up I get on the inverse machine hanging by the feet, then do soft exercises upside-down.

Thanks Allan
Not many flying HummelBirds in Australia, So very hard to get an estimate. Had sixteen on my builder's list at one stage, but the "wing-load" has decimated it.
Now they have Factory made aircraft on the 51% built 19 class registration, so they can and do what they like.

Hi Gimballock.
Just my Hummelbird , but a lot of the information is from the other flying Hummelbirds .
Like the one that has 61 miles to the gallon (4litre's) written on it's side, My own static run, consumption of twenty minutes per lite.
But have no idea of the price of an annual inspection, guessed the fuel price of $2.00 a litre,($1.89). no paint or canvas as it's polished , no hangar fee's as trailered.

Hi Allan Just a quicky?
Whats the price of av-gas LL100 at the moment $ litre
Also the cost of annual inspection.
Its for another post but I've no idea on the subject.

Hi, I hope gimballock & |Roundsound have received my post to you?.
Always thought a do it your-self home handy man type approach would be far better to to get a understanding of how things work,
Even chop my own prop's, just because I can afford $50 of wood + the cost of good glue, if it's no good it's not a $500 throw-away.

Hi Roundsounds
I've just had a quick go with the spreadsheet, I think I'll try to send it to you as I don't fly, but put the known facts in, also don't know the cost of an RAA inspection/
It makes this the cheapest that I know of.
