  1. Many years ago on a return trip via Singapore, I bought my then wife an outfit which was identical to what the Singapore Airline hosties wore.

For our anniversary I took her to Centrepoint Tower in Sydney for a meal and requested a table right by the windows and she looked stunning wearing that outfit i'd bought her.

She absolutely froze at the height and we had to change to a table further back away from the windows.

As we were about to leave, the lady by the lift looked at my wife and said "i'm intrigued that you seem scared of heights, how are you when you're flying? to which my wife replied " i'm terrified and and do nothing but eat and eat till it's time to get off"

The lift arrived and down we went, and I said that poor girl will probably never ever fly with them, I think you've just done them big a dis-service with those comments!.

The Kyneton scene hag a big attendance meeting with supporters and the council necessary to convince them of the need for the aerodrome to keep open and operating. I was one of those pressing to keep it. Dromes are under this sort of pressure from councils frequently. Look at what happened at TYABB. Pressure from developers with fortunately a final good outcome.  Nev

Plain envelopes are often the problem Nev.

The same with so many council applications.

All you need is the knowledge of those that will accept them.

  3. No doubt filmed at Dunedoo NSW (pronounced Dunnydo) Regional Airport.

For non-Aussies, The term " the dunny" refers to the toilet. In years gone by, most places had an old non-flushing outside toilet, normally positioned well away from the house which had to be manually emptied.

At night time it was always wise to carry a torch and lift the seat before use to make sure there were no red-back spiders lurking under the seat.

  4. The Menu-log Delivery Drivers Association of South East Asia were naturally up in arms, as their mopeds only had a top speed of about 50 kmp flat chat with a tailwind to escape these intrusions, and sought some of Turbo's go faster guidance to improve their chances of survivability.

Didn,t those 2 CV Citroën have two cones & an elastic belt for gearing ? .

I'm sure you must be thinking of the DAF Daffodil Spacey. Two cones with a rubber drive belt which made an infinately variable gearbox drive. One drove thousands of miles across Africa at the time and the media claimed it was driven by a rubber band. Haha!

I seem to remember one which was entered in The East African Safari Rally.

Very " French" and a good cult car. Compare with the Renault 2CV(Deux Chauvaux).

Can't knock the 2CV. They were quite comfortable over the cobblestones streets even if the seats were a bit like deck chairs, and they rolled like a destroyer.
