  1. Thanks, Clay. I tried Repco but they no longer allow me to go behind the counter to do my own selection. They all seem to insist on a car make and model. Bring back the 'good ole daze' when I could go down the back with my sample an find the right hose myself. So far I've managed to get a couple that might do (with a bit of massaging and cutting). Was just hoping someone had good catalogue numbers. PS Thank you to the mod who corrected the thread title.
  2. Hi Lightwing brothers. I'm doing a hose replacement on my GA912 Lightwing. There is a "rubber replacement kit" from Bert but it doesn't include the two radiator hoses. The top one is easy as it's straight. Can anyone tell me what automotive equivalent will fit the long lower hose? Thanks, Peter PS the thread title should say "rotax" but autocorrect didn't agree and it changed it to "total".
  3. I wouldn't knock him. Out this way, there are very few alternate airstrips, and plenty of mountains. Without us speculators knowing exact layout of the fog, probably he may not have had the luxury of clear air to a better landing area. I'm well South of Sandfy, and he was heading North of there. Believe it or not, I believe he saw different sky from me. Two days ago we had cloud that often dropped to ground level. I heard a chopper. Following the sound, I got a glimpse of it way below my verandah, following the river between 500' hills. I estimate he was no more than 100' agl. The weather was similar here yesterday. Today has high cloud base. Where he was would have been different but my point is that Tassie weather can change very suddenly, and locally. I prefer to give the pilot credit for assessing weather at the time, but getting caught out with a unpredictable change. BOM cannot predict everything. And although the outcome wasn't perfect, it was very good.
  4. The Emu clan is off to a good start for the new year. So good to hear.
  5. It's raining too much to do any domestic infrastructure building. Glad to see you're off to a good aircraft start for the new year.
  6. Welcome to the snake pit. It's a great place to learn about flying, aircraft, politics, and all kinds of stuff.
  7. Best wishes to you and especially to Ma Emu. I think people heal more quickly at home than in hospitals. All the best for speedy recovery.
  8. Robinsm's. Shame on you! I suspect you just aren't taking this discussion seriously.
  9. Just creating a demand for new aircraft. Gotta keep the industry wheels a'turnin.
  10. Sorry Nobody. I drifted off topic again. Just didn't want to blame Greens and Lefties for all our world's problems. Was related to Robinsm's rant
  11. Another case illustrating the value of all recreational flying groups sticking together in an effort to get a collectively fair operational environment. We would do well to join forces with the likes of GFA
  12. Step one to the solution. Cancel baby bonus. Introduce no child bonus. Reduce population growth. Overpopulation is a root cause of the other problems. The illusion of eternal growth is just a form of pyramid selling economy. Improve world education levels instead of bombing the baddies. Encourage birth control world wide.
  13. Yeah, I know. Just stirring.
  14. That won't cover the fuel cost. I'd still worry.
  15. Well you can't expect virgins to be experts.......
  16. I'd be a bit cautious, Bex. Some of Their flights have been known to take a loooong time.
  17. I haven't been around Camden for many years so I can't offer any observations on it. However I am very interested in any anecdotal contributions. Like you, I suspect that the human plague must be affecting local weather. Loss of trees combined with hard surfaces has already been shown in other places to aggravate flooding due to instant runoff of rain.
  18. Well, Nobody is talking about it now......
  19. Sadly missed by all of us, especially by Lightwing pilots.
  20. Sorry, Frank. I didn't mean to be a wet blanket. Drifters are great! Love your regular contributions.
  21. I think Reschs DA stood officially for "dinner ale"? Can't imagine anybody willingly spoiling a meal with the stuff. It turned me off beer so much that I started drinking wine. Even considering the average 'quality' of Aussie wine in those days. And back then any bloke caught drinkin plonk was automatically branded 'poof' and risked a beating for it. Thankfully our 'culture' and tolerance has improve a lot. So has our brewing.
  22. Probably Resches DA (we called it deadly awful).
  23. All the fun of intoxication without having to suffer putting another four ex in my mouth ever again. Or I could just switch to a nice glass of red.
  24. It'd be the only way to take some beers. Keep it as far away from my taste buds as possible.
