You mustn't be using www.recreationalflying.com or try clearing your cacheStill redirects to this forum for me...(Firefox) -
I am just providing the facility but it is up to you all to either make it work or not...if it does then it is what you wanted, if it doesn't then it is obviously not what you wanted and Aircraft Pilots is.

Either or both...the difference would be in the moderation...preference would be on here at Aircraft Pilots where it would be treated purely as educational so any posts that stray from that would be moderated. Any implications of RAAus in regards to the accident, for example the Ferris Wheel accident, would then be discussed on Recreational Flying...the implications and NOT the actual accident...I hope that we all are smart enough to realise the difference in using an accident as a learning tool here on Aircraft Pilots and any RAAus specific implications are discussed on Recreational FlyingSo...as a for instance the recent Lake Hume crash thread would be appropriate for which site ?(That may be a tricky one) -
Here at Aircraft Pilots Turbo...as mentioned, this is the main site but those that just want to discuss something specific to RAAus like RAAus Politics or the RAAus Board etc, now have the option of having their own forums to discuss these matters and those that just want to fly or talk aircraft or aviation (recreational, GA, Kit Building etc etc etc) use Aircraft Pilots...interested in both, simple, just click between the two just like clicking between one forum to another here.Well I clicked on my normal Bookmark and found myself out in a gulag or old posts on RAA matters, sort of a defacto RAA site, so Ian maybe you explain the concept again.Where do the people who are not in RAA, but just recreational flyers discuss their day to day flying interests? -
Hi All
As been previously mentioned in other threads, we have opened a Sister Site using our old name of Recreational Flying which is dedicated to members of RAAus (Recreational Aviation Australia).
The site's address is www.recreationalflying.com and you can access it very quickly by simply clicking the link in the box titled "Our Sister Web Sites" in the right column of the forums main page:
Please Note:
1. The Recreational Flying (.com.au) site is purely a forum site that has been established to facilitate a need by RAAus members to discuss anything to do with RAAus in an independent environment.
2. Users will have to register separately on that site to use it
3. ONLY RAAus related posts/discussions should be made on that site and all other posts/discussions should be made here on Aircraft Pilots as the "main" site
4. Recreational Flying topics are limited to RAAus and thus heated debates may occur, however it is still moderated and has the same set of rules as this site. Remember everyone may have a differing opinion to yourself and their opinions should be respected as much as you feel yours should be
We will give this a go and see what evolves but my main focus is on Aircraft Pilots being a place for help and support between all aviators and a great friendly community that we can all make together.
Thanks...safe and happy flying!
PS. The Aviation Enthusiasts site packed with features for all enthusiasts in aviation will also be opening soon creating, between the 3 sites, a "complete" HOME of aviation designed to hopefully meet everyone's needs.

There has never been a JabiruWeekendWarrior registered on the site however there was, and still is, WeekendWarrior, if that is what it was...if so then I can merge them for you. However if email addresses are not kept up to date then I do tend to delete users with incorrect addresses as I get sick of bounced emails coming back...at the moment the site is reporting around 600 users with incorrect email addresses so I will be working through those soon and culling users to free up user names.Admin, it was the same user name, i could not log in so I created a new profile using the same username as before.....To everyone, please ensure your email address in the system is correct and if you can't log in for any reason please give me a ring on 03 9444-8025 so I can fix it up for you.

Thanks for all your very valuable comments...
The Recreational Flying (.com.au) forum and events only site, that is just dedicated to all RAAus members, should be going live later today (Sunday 8th Jan). It will be under the management of Ahlocks and David Isaacs as mentioned at the end of last month...watch for the announcement
The Enthusiasts site, Aviation Enthusiasts (.net) should be going live some time this week and it will be packed with some great features
Each site, including Aircraft Pilots (.com), will have their own independent user registration system so that means to post in either of the sites you will need to register and login to that site however at this stage and unless I can come up with a better idea, switching between any of the sites will be easy by simply clicking them from a box that will be located towards the top of the right column on each of the site's main pages.
Depending on how well they are received, down the track I may create a single login system for them but let's see how they go for 2012 first.

I am still working on the Aviation Enthusiasts (.net) web site and in the development of the Video Library, with a You Tube browser, I found this very funny video in the You Tube Browser and added it to the Aviation Enthusiasts Video Library for testing and development...it's very funny so I thought I would a link to it here for you to watch:

If I was in NSW I would be voting for you Col...sorry mate but Vic is home

Great photos there Tex

No Linda, no damage here...I am not sure whether Fords may have slightly thicker metal but two Holdens, who belonged to our visitors, had dents in them...my Fairmont Wagon and Sedan came through untouched
-
-
Change of plan or name at least...replacing "Aircraft" with "Aviation" and being .net instead of .com so the enthusiasts site will be AviationEnthusiasts.net
-
Some more development on Aviation Enthusiasts .com was completed today with much more to do...but if you are interested to see how it is tracking each day, and perhaps offer comments to help in its direction, you can go to:
http://www.aviationenthusiasts.net/index.php
(note it isn't open to registrations yet and there is still a lot of formatting and the adding of many more sections/areas and features)

Thanks Shags, will be in touchFYI Ian: Love the idea of the seperate sites.. Even commented on it on my blog. If your in need of anyone to help out with aircraft geeks, I'd be happy to put some time in. -
With the help of users here the Enthusiasts sister site has been renamed to Aircraft Enthusiasts (.com) and as ptreviously mentioned it is using the old software so we can have a powerful photo gallery, video library, articles and much more...the video chat room for the enthusiasts will be the old video chat room software...the cross over between this site and Aircraft Enthusiasts will be well defined between pilots and enthusiasts but overall will add a fantastic new dimension to our site...should be up and running in the next 1 to 2 weeks for ALL the pure Aircraft Enthusiasts:
-
Happy New Year to every one of you here in our community...May your flying be trouble free, packed with enjoyment and together, let's all make this a safe and prosperous 2012

Hi All
We know this site is all about aviation and targeted to the "Recreational" side i.e. any aviation that is not Commercial but we do know that we are trying to break down any "perceived" barriers between Ultralights and GA...for the good of our industry as we are all aviators.
With this in mind, are there any extra things the site can have in this GA section? For example the Aircraft Type Usergroups...have I got the most popular ones?...is there any other GA aircraft that should be added as a usergroup due to the aircraft type population/popularity?...we have Warbirds, Antiques, Aerobatics etc but is there, without diversifying too much, any other "important" areas of GA aviation that we should have?
Your help is appreciated!
