Aviation Enthusiasts is a separate site using different software so you have to register to use that site
-
Yes, I have removed the 3rd party software app PLUS, I have just engaged a server management company (another $30 a month...this site seems a bottomless pit of expense) who are currently "hardening" the server and changing some things to hopefully make it more stable for extra software that I want to add to the site for you.
Please keep the server outage reports coming so I can ascertain when things start to become stable again...thanks
-
Well that would be a problem related to you as it was fully operational right up to late yesterday afternoon and it was only then that work was startedSite was 95% offline all day yesterday, logged in or not. All links from Google dead also. -
Hi All
A third party software company has been installing some new software on our server starting from yesterday (Monday) afternoon and I know I have been having issues with the site being down at times and other things however if I went to another PC it would be ok or even accessing it by my phone.
I need to know if anyone else has been experiencing issues with the site being down etc in the last 24hrs so I can advise the software vendor of what types of issues we are experiencing...your help in this matter would be extremely appreciated...thanks

I would argue against that one as girls can NOT manufacture, they are born with the products...Males are the only ones that can actually manufacture from scratch to create the girls that are born with the ready made products that are waiting for the male manufactured goods to start the process again

This thread isn't anything specific to RAAus and is on the main site (Aircraft Pilots)
-
HH, what forums would you remove then?I find it very hard sometimes to find (keep up with) the threads I have been posting in, I think there are far to many forums/sub forums. Many of the forums are empty or have very few posts, this would indicate to me that the number of forums could be reduced. -
Should be on Aircraft Pilots as it isn't specific to RAAus

It is unfortunate that I make this post.
Aircraft Pilots member SamL was fatally injured whilst flying his Gyrocoptor at Mangalor Victoria yesterday.
RIP Sam and keep flying high with those angels.

Hi All
Just to inform everyone, there has been a slight change to the site.
Previously there was a menu item called "Pilot Tools". This has been replaced with "Resources". Clicking on the Resources tab will display a page that lists the previous Pilot Tools of:
Weather
Airstrips
Flight Planner
Aircraft Registers
Like ALL the menu tabs, if you want to go directly to a specific area of a section, instead of clicking the menu tab, just hover your mouse on tab and move the mouse over the little arrow that appears next to the text of the tab and click the specific area from the drop down that appears:
This change will make way for more FREE Pilot Resources to be added to the site in this "section".
If you have any ideas, thoughts or suggestions on what extra resources you would like to have available to you here on Aircraft Pilots then PLEASE let me know so I can add them for you
Thanks!

On the agenda for this year and as briefly mentioned a couple of months ago, I hope to start a Chapter System...Aircraft Pilots X Chapter...that groups of users can start up for their region and have a section here on the site for it.
Sue mentioned it towards the end of last year so I will be talking to her and anyone else who would like to get involved in starting up and helping to run the Chapter System soon.

Hi All
As been previously mentioned in other threads, we have opened our third and final Sister Site under the name of Aviation Enthusiasts (.net) which is dedicated to all the aviation enthusiasts out there.
The site's address is www.aviationenthusiasts.net and you can access it very quickly by simply clicking the link in the box titled "Our Sister Web Sites" in the right column of the forums main page:
Please Note:
1. The Aviation Enthusiasts (.net) site is targeted to be a very large and comprehensive site that has been established to facilitate a need by members here to discuss anything to do with aviation from an enthusiasts perspective in an independent environment.
2. Users will have to register separately on that site to use it
3. ONLY Enthusiasts related posts/discussions should be made on that site and all other posts/discussions relating to pilots and flying should be made here on Aircraft Pilots as the "main" site
4. Aviation Enthusiasts (.net) uses different software to this site and thus it is being developed with many extra and different features to this one with some of them currently still being worked on due to the development time required to bring them to you in a way that you will enjoy using. These features will become available in the coming weeks
Please check out the great Video Library with its YouTube Browser and auto forum thread creation, the Latest Aviation News Reader, the home page with the latest news and a instant video player, create you very own Aviation Blog or start your very own User Group in the Groups Section and much more.
Thanks to site member Shags who will be looking after the Aviation Enthusiasts site and if any one else would like to join the team for it then please let me know.
We will give this a go and see what evolves but my main focus is on Aircraft Pilots being a place for help and support between all aviators and a great friendly community that we can all make together.
Thanks and I hope you enjoy using Aviation Enthusiasts...safe and happy flying!

Update on Aviation Enthusiasts (.net)
Most of the infrastructure is completed and the forums themselves are also completed including a better "Likes" system where you can actually remove a Like that you have given if the post gets changed by the user.
The News system is completed using an updated version of our "News Reader" where all the News is contained in one page and you can see the complete News item without leaving the page.
The Latest Aviation News in two columns is completed for the Home Page and after Aviation Enthusiasts goes live, the news section here on Aircraft Pilots will become more specific to non-commercial aviation news items as these will be on Aviation Enthusiasts (.net)
I am working on the Photo Gallery and Video Library at the moment.
Aviation Enthusiasts (.net) has a Blog System for users and a Resource Section for information on things like different aircraft (inc Boeing and Airbus), Airlines, Aviators, Museums, Airports, Spotting Areas etc etc etc.
There is also "Groups" so you can create your own "Interest Groups".

Hi All
I have made a slight adjustment to the order of forums in the General Forums category...The General Discussion forums for each geographic location have been moved up the list bringing them closer to the top.
With the addition of the Recreational Flying dedicated RAAus site, the Australian Governing Bodies forum is now contained on the Recreational Flying site.
The Aviation Classifieds forum is no longer a sub forum but a main forum for your private classified listings in the General Forums category
These slight changes should be the last for some time now with the exception of when the Aviation Enthusiasts site opens in which case the Enthusiasts category at the bottom of the forums will be migrated to the Enthusiasts site leaving this site, Aircraft Pilots, dedicated to Pilots and their Aircraft.
