The findings of this, and the recommendations to the Minister, may well be that you will need to get an Airworthy Certificate from a Level 2 every year and provide that with your registration renewal.
Other findings are:
- The RAAus enforces the obligations of reporting to them if you see someone flying "Not Quite Right" i.e. dangerous, or any other thing that you feel may not be of an acceptable/legal standard.
- The RAAus initiate a "written policy" of others reporting to them any type of flying that may not be of an acceptable/legal standard and processes to facilitate that reporting even to an extent of Anon reporting
- The investigation of Legislative Guidance of publishing pilot certificate suspensions/cancellations in some manner
Note...the above are my own words
-
If ATSB is not investigating could that mean it may be an RAAus aircraft?
-
There is so much involved in all this and David and I have compared notes and I can confirm what he is saying from my sources...plus there is more.
I really wish I could "spill the beans" but I feel I can't, at this point in time however I stand by what I have said...Runciman and Tizzard need to remove themselves from RAAus to give RAAus a chance to be "seen" as being "able" to rebuild...The only other way I think would be for the entire board to step aside as the damage has been done and even if they do get out of this, I believe it will only be a matter of time before something else major happens. We have seen many things happen under the Runciman/Tizzard watch (freedoms removed on young upcoming pilots - reinstated again - removed again, worst audit ever, mass groundings, insurances, legal, board members resigning etc - to name just a few) and there is the knowledge that Tizzard has sent private in-house RAAus communications on to CASA, legal actions threatened/commenced against members without the board knowing...it just goes on and on and on.
It's YOUR Association and we have seen that in the last 9 months you have never before been kept in so much darkness...however one day everything, I hope, will come out and you will see the actions of those that YOU voted in to represent you. PLEASE, think very carefully when voting for your representatives on the board this year, do your due diligence and PLEASE don't just take a "She'll be right" attitude because this attitude may be responsible for you waking up one day and find you can't fly because you have been grounded or for some other reason.

And send you the bill for photocopying it a zillion times...sorry but couldn't resistLawyers always need to argue and interpret, its how they make their money. Give them a scone recipe and its open to negotiation and interpretation. You may wind up with a 5 tier wedding cake.

:welcome:Mate, always feel free to post any questions that you may have here in the forums as there is a world of knowledge and experience just sitting waiting to help...no question is a dumb question when it comes to flying...enjoy!

One of the big issues here is that to expose any of the true facts could get the poster in trouble...that is the problem with forums...for example if I released what I have, and thus fact, there would be trouble for both myself and several others including RAAus members however, I am personally willing to stand by what I say which is based on true facts, supported by evidence but I just can't tell you in an open forum...and in fact in respect of one thing, a HUGE legal matter, saying something could jeopardise things...so please understand
-
To be the devils advocate here...if you won't pass a ramp check, should you be flying anyway? Besides, CASA can ramp check any RAAus registered aircraft now anyway...can't they?Knowing where you stand with CASA !!??After you've been ramped a few times, and undergone a few AOC/Flying School audits - your opinion may be tempered somewhat.happy days,
In regards to the Flying School Audits, should they be teaching if they don't pass an audit which is done by RAAus currently under the rules set out by CASA (by way of approval of the Ops manual) as well.
What was bandied about in an earlier post was along the lines of the RAAus Ops manual being administered by CASA and not abolishing the RAAus Ops Manual.
I personally don't think that CASA would want to have RAAus simply due to the pressure that can be applied to them by so many recreational aviators voicing their opinions/thoughts...at the moment they can stay at arms length wielding a stick at a "body" rather then a mass group of people where they would be in the direct line of fire.
-
Ok, I will change the statement to say "Employee"Unfortunately it seems to have all the time in the Corporate Arena... Doesn't make it OK but... just sayin.
-
The CEO presides over the office and RAAus has just had one of the worst audits in their history yet the CEO has just been given a pay rise that was strongly supported by the President (Runciman)...personally I believe that in the corporate arena if a CEO doesn't perform then I don't think they would get a pay rise...do you?

I have had some tweaks done to the server...please try it now and tell me if it is still having issues...thanks
-
Sounds like you might be on to something there Nong...the freedoms of recreational aviators remain in tact with the ops manual and maintenance etc, more affordable flying in terms of aircraft registration and membership costs

I have been told by phone today that there is more happening over the next 2 weeks so I guess we will have to "watch this space"...and yes, it seems to me by what I have heard from several sources that there is a common denominator but I don't have tangible proof of that which I can give you, only what the different sources have told me...strange that they have all said the same thing which to me, verifies that there is a common denominator.

One thing that I was able to achieve when I was a board member, although against the wishes of other board members, was to instil more transparency as I said to all members what was happening even though it was to much disgust of hearing the goings on of the board by many members, I still did it as I believed YOU own the Association, not a group of 13.
So, with this in mind I can't help but wonder whether I should stand at this next election and try to bring back the board member communication again and thus transparency but as I found before, I am just 1 person?
In respect of the rumours, Ramsay and Cain's resignation are not rumours, the reasons for their resignations are basically the same, and the resignation of a third board member was also for the same but that resignation was not accepted by Runciman yet he accepted the other two. Also as to proof, I have emails and copies of solicitors letters which I WILL release depending on what happens soon and to the extent that I say again...Runciman and Tizzard MUST stand down TODAY and leave the RAAus to rebuild itself for the most important stakeholder...YOU, the members !

I know of one member that is not listed in the opening post that told me he was about to resign also...I know of so much going on, and have the documents to prove it, that would make any RAAus member absolutely disgusted and I did say all this would happen 8 months ago however I am waiting for the right time to release it all...if you want to save RAAus both Runciman and Tizzard need to go TODAY!

The shop doesn't however give me to early next week and I will see what I can do

The Recreational Flying and Aircraft Pilots Pilot Supplies Shop has been redeveloped and now live.
It is no longer called Clear Prop and is a part of this site accessed by the 'Pilot Supplies" menu item on the main menu bar. Please note that as the shop requires shipping address and phone numbers when you place an order, it has a completely independent and separate user registration and login system. This means that even though you may be registered in the forums, you still need to register again in the shop and login when placing an order, although you can always elect to place an order and "Checkout" as a "Guest" without registering, just means that you have to enter your details every time you place an order.
The specials that are listed in the right column of the forums will now be updated on an almost daily basis so if you see a special listed there please note that it could no longer be a special at any time...even the next day so you have to order the special then and there or else you may miss out on the special price.
The shop now has an advanced communication system which should make many of you happy with instant online live help, an order communication system as an order progresses from placement through to dispatch plus there is also an online form accessed on every product that you can complete to price match if you have seen the product advertised anywhere else cheaper...we will match that price and include a free gift with your order. This will help us to make sure we ARE the cheapest supplier of your Pilot Supply needs.
Your use of the shop is so desperately needed in order for us to provide you with this site, this valuable resource, as the shop is what helps to pay all the bills, even more so now with our great initiatives to help all recreational aviators coming up, we need the shop more then ever.
So please support the Pilot Supplies Shop on this site so we can keep on continuing to support you.
-
These are initiatives that "Recreational Flying and Aircraft Pilots" (i.e. this website) are doing for you and all recreational aviators.

Whilst I agree with a single representative body in a "perfect world", in reality my thoughts are against a Monopoly situation. Duopoly, whilst having the ability of a Monopoly style representation if they worked together in representation, in this case to CASA, would also have all the added advantages of competition resulting not only in the freedom of choice for the user but also in providing much more for the user by way of the inherited advantages of competition.
A Monopoly is also dangerous in terms of performance for the users which could result in a greater amount of potentially dissatisfied users as we are seeing now with RAAus
However, if a Duopoly was in place, both parties would need to be balanced to each other. For example unions between RAAus + SAAA + HGFA and a GFA + Rotorcraft would not result in an equal balance of representation so a Duopoly can also represent disadvantages to the user if not properly formed from the beginning to allow the benefits of competition to have effect.

With the state of the financial affairs in Australia, budget blow outs, promises of surpluses, grab for money, aviation considered in politics as a rich man's activity etc etc...what are your thoughts on whether Australia will take a page out of the US's book and try to implement a similar thing here...read this:

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority has suspended the operations of Alligator Airways with immediate effect from Thursday 3 May 2012.
This action has been taken because CASA believes permitting the Kununurra based Alligator Airways to continue to fly poses a serious and imminent risk to air safety.
Both the air operator's certificate and the certificate of approval of Alligator Airways have been suspended. These certificates cover the flying operations and the maintenance activities of Alligator Airways.
During 2011 and 2012 CASA served a number of show cause notices on Alligator Airways due to concerns about aircraft maintenance, failure to report incidents, inadequate pilot training records, a deficient safety culture, an inability of key personnel to carry out their safety obligations and key positions unoccupied or not functional.
Since the last show cause notice there have been further incidents raising concerns about Alligator Airways’ ability to continue to conduct operations safely.
These incidents involved forced landings where CASA believes employees of Alligator Airways were aware of significant defects affecting the safety of aircraft prior to flight.
In the circumstances, CASA no longer has confidence in the ability of Alligator Airways to satisfactorily address the safety issues that have been identified.
The suspension is in force immediately for an initial five working days, during which time CASA must apply to the Federal Court for an extension of the grounding.
If the Federal Court supports CASA's application the court can continue the suspension for a period of time which will allow CASA to complete investigations into the safety matters.
Until this suspension, Alligator airways was authorised to conduct charter flights from Kununurra and Broome in aircraft which include a seven seat GA8 Airvan.
