BirdDog Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Hello All, I thought I would share my recent experience in renewing my ASIC. I got the email that it was coming up, and actioned it straight away. I chose the post office option, so went down that day to the Post Office to get it processed. Wed 1 April. 7 Days later I received an email to say it was approved. Wed 8 April The following week I had the card in my hand. The only gripe I have is my existing card, that I have no sent back, expired in May. This new card expires in April. So being quick to renew, actually means I have lost a month, so I should have waited until 1 May to renew. But I had heard the horror stories and didn't want to risk being without one. PS - This was through Veritas. Cheers J 1 1 1 1

Otherwise ask fair trading what they think of this blatant ripoff. I had similar, thought I'd be smart and renew mine a month late as didn't need it, pin on renewal was good for one or two months after due date. I sent my late bit of info to allow processing 2 days into month. When I got it it was the month before. Just a bunch of cunning so and so's. As I was late did not do above and was a month overdue when I renewed, just stretching it out. Cheers and best regards mate. 1 1 1

BirdDog Posted yesterday at 06:19 AM Author Posted yesterday at 06:19 AM UPDATE. Had a response re losing a month, and was basically told, it is all from the month it gets processed. They alert 60 days from expiry, so if you act early, you will lose a month! LOL! 2
facthunter Posted yesterday at 06:39 AM Posted yesterday at 06:39 AM How can you be required to PAY for something you don't GET? Nev

Also you re purchasing a non product ie has no security benefit to you or the country. Ripped off twice by the Government - Thats Australia's version of a democratic process.😈 1

I should be able to show them that and get my card but they don't recognise other security checks . I guess they need their $300 fee . 1
BurnieM Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) And just for a laugh; CASA do not recognise the ASIC as valid ID either 🙂 Edited 12 hours ago by BurnieM 2
facthunter Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago It's of NO assistance when getting or renewing a Passport either, It's TIME its form and purpose was reassessed . Nev 1
Student Pilot Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago The ASIC has been a great success, since introduction there have been no terrorist incidents in Australia involving aircraft or access to airfields 🤣 3
facthunter Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I don't think that is correct. I doubt it is that effective at all. Security Has to Be effective. Todays world (unfortunately) REQUIRES it. Nev
