skippydiesel Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Just been looking at the jumble of control steps around Rockhampton (YBRK) - would like to correspond with a local pilot,ย as to best way to get to Hedlow (YHEW) when inbound from the south of YBRK??? ย ๐
skippydiesel Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 Can it be true that there are no recreational/private pilots in the Rocky area????๐ 1
Thruster88 Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Looking at google maps terrain and the airspace chart for a few minutes, this is how I would do it. Old Station- Koorana croc farm - Hedlow. All OCTA. 1
skippydiesel Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 Thanks Thruster - That's almost as I have ben advised, by the CFI at Hedlow. ย His advise is to go to Cale Keppel and then to the Koorana Crocodile Farmย . ย Tried to make contact with Rockhampton Aero Club (still listed) but apparently went "belly up" a few years ago๐
onetrack Posted April 5 Posted April 5 I'd guess when overflying a crocodile farm, you pray twice as hard, for the engine to keep running? ๐ย
Blueadventures Posted April 5 Posted April 5 4 hours ago, onetrack said: I'd guess when overflying a crocodile farm, you pray twice as hard, for the engine to keep running? ๐ย I'll keep that in mine when down that way next in a few weeks time, usually over fly Milliorn.ย Its a very scenic fly through area. 1
JMLIS Posted April 5 Posted April 5 I generally use Emu Park when in that area, but if traveling north from there I track not far from Hedlow. Have used Hedlow but found it quite expensive. 1
