An interesting scenario, the possibility of running on all four with a broken throttle cable however I think that would be an unlikely failure on a regularly serviced engine. I think you'd need to do a lot of testing before you went to the expense of making casting patterns.

 

I've built plenty but molds but to cast a manifold is expensive. You first have to form the sand core in a mold. Then the core is fitted into the mold and the molten metal fills the cavity in between. Complex and expensive so you need to sell plenty to cover developments costs.
