Making the wild assumption that ICP supply the same stick grips for the Savannah as they did for my Ventura, what did you Sav owners do about mounting a PTT switch? The hole in the top is very rough, and about 15mm diameter and straight through, so there is nothing to hold a switch in place. What am I missing?

sfG I cut a little disk to fit in the top of the tube (from one of the 6061 offcuts), with a little tab on each side going down into the tube, riveted these in place. Drilled hole for switch.
It may have been raised in the centre to get the switch high enough, can't recall. Was a quick job.

That looks like the switch might mount into an end plug in the tube. You could machine a little plug from a chunk of acrylic or similar or just buy an end plug for furniture tube to mount the switch into.

I would just go with the sheet metal: a simple job with material at hand and quickly shaped to bring the switch up to the right height.

So, does this count as first flight (albeit at 3’ AGL) 😛

Depends on the degree of “pucker factor” you experienced….So possibly, but unlikely.

I followed the truck down Macquarie Pass (very winding with some tight hairpins), so, yes, the pucker factor rose a few times. 😛 Actually, the drivers were very good. I’ll be happy for them to do the return journey.

I just hate it when you have a breakdown, and you have to call in a tilt tray!  😄

Well, that colour is pretty much guaranteed to make sure that no-one ever misses sighting you! 🙂

Yep, totally intentional. It was the only colour I could think of that couldn’t be mistaken for sky, cloud (grey or white) or trees & grass. Doesn’t work for the outback though.

Maybe we should invent a skin surface like an anti-chameleon; it changes its colour to the opposite of its surroundings! 🙄

If you paint the wings and tail a bright purple, you'll have two colours and a pattern that will stand out anywhere. 🙂

Orange AND purple! Very 70s. All I need then is to bolt a surfboard on top. 😁

It's good being bright orange when everyone around you is flying a lot faster 😁

Hopefully more chance of being spotted
