  1. Nice pics! Good one.... Neil
  2. Hi John, I certainly did train with Terry! He is such a good instructor. I hope you get to do your training at Tyabb, I am not familiar with any of the instructors there, but it looks like a good place to fly from (and puts on a great Airshow). You don't need an ASIC card. Best of luck! Keep us informed about how you get on. BTW the Human Factors course is not that difficult - mostly common sense. Some parts even quite interesting Cheers Neil
  3. G'day Macca! Gotta love those Avid Flyers ... Cheers Neil
  4. Hi John, I know they have 3 or 4 Gazelles for training at Tyabb. Having also learnt to fly in a Texan (also at Sunbury) and now flying a Gazelle I can vouch for it being pretty easy to move from one to the other. Anyway - good luck with whatever you decide to do - glad to see you getting back into flying Cheers Neil
  5. Yeh - I watched it and thought exactly the same! Lot of Tiger Country.....but brilliant nonetheless!
  6. Hi dcvr, English IT geek here, emigrated to Aus about 14 years ago, got my Recreational Certificate about 3 years ago..... ..and good luck with the CPL! Cheers Neil
  7. Hey rgmwa, Very interesting! Thanks for posting... Cheers Neil

  11. Hi Daniel, Welcome to the site and the forums. Hope one day you will get to fly that Mustang P51! Cheers Neil
  12. Absolutely brilliant - fun flying at its best (and most affordable), and good music too. Keep 'em coming, Don! Cheers, Neil
  13. Hi Ian, Maybe you should sneak down to Moorabbin Air Museum and nick the one they have on display there! Cheers Neil
  14. Has to be the Beech Staggerwing, or if we go a bit further back, the Sopwith Camel......
  15. Nope - changed my mind - looks like a Dragon DH84....
  16. Hi Tomo, Great pix! ....especially that lovely Dragon Rapide (assuming that's what it was)..... Cheers Neil
  17. Cool - in every sense of the word .....
  18. Nice one, Dave!
  19. Hi Diddy, Sounds like an all too familiar story! Good aircraft the Gazelle (not that I am biased or anything....) You seem to be having a great time with your flying - hope you continue to enjoy it - I certainly am! Keep us posted on your progress with those milestones... Cheers Neil
  20. Hallelujah! BTW - with all the rain here in Melbourne are they considering a version with floats?
  21. Congrats, Motz! Good stuff, mate
  22. Hi Wozz, I fly a Gazelle (as in the Avatar) , and I must have flown over your place a number of times. I can't make out the strips on Google Earth, but the images are pretty old. What's the Lat & Long of your strip? Flew down to the coast with a mate the other weekend, but it is so wet and windy at the moment that flights are few and far between, unfortunately. Yeh - am familiar with Rod's Storch, although I have never flown it myself. I learnt in the Texan with Terry. The Rans S10 looks like a very potent aircraft - are you intending to do aero's? Cheers Neil
  23. Hi Warren, Welcome! I fly out of Penfield, so you must be very close.....where exactly are you located? I shall keep an eye out for you! Cheers Neil
  24. ....and for ageing hippies everywhere (like me) who could forget Hendrix and Little Wing :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THP5xJSD83c ..or the Stevie Ray Vaughan (longer) version :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVVmsxR67ZE Cool, man!
  25. Hi Tony, Welcome! Hope you enjoy exploring those country airports when you get your Nav endorsement. Cheers Neil
