Did the sixes lack elevator authority at low speed or was it only the rudder?
It could be hard to slow down sufficiently and keep the nosewheel off if this were the case...
-
I would say no...... it would be current from the day it was done and for the two years after that.

same argument as the one supporting RAAus keeping our rego's confidential to avoid paying landing charges
It's about IDENTITY THEFT and maintaining the integrity and security of MY personal and private information.
The first line in the link below says it all......

Most clubs are commercial based these days. They do training and hiring so don't be put off by the term "club".

Yes, I would imagine it to be a custom electric prop.
As the electric motor would already be substantially quieter, I don't think prop noise would be high up in the design parameters.
I know someone who has flown in an electric aircraft and he says the fact that the electric motor can pull max torque from zero rpm onwards is a shock. No building rpm to bring in the power, just instant hard acceleration.

Got a friend with RAA cert and rpl. Says just do the rpl bfr and that's good enough for RAA as well.
RAA bfr will not cover RPL though....
So he just does the one.

I have twin Hella spots for my landing light. Does anyone know if an LED replacement Is available?
Maybe Hella themselves have LED replacements for your part number?

Picture.....or it never happened....

Replaced my halogen with LED. Very easy. Found the right diameter on ebay.
Made bracket and fitted.
Replaced 2 position toggle switch (on/off) with 3 position. Routed the 3rd position to a LED flasher unit from Jaycar. (On/off/flash)
It is reported to be extremely bright.
Edit: to be clear, I'm talking landing light so may not be relevant.

I think your issue of multiple sizes probably comes from an engineer trying to match up imperial fittings with metric hose and just making a mess of it..
My aircraft with Rotax 912 uses 8mm all the way from wings to Rotax mechanical pump, then 6mm to the carbs.
Larger (suction side) hose reduces potential vapour lock but can allow more "dwell" time if near a heat source.
The smaller 6mm under pressure from the fuel pump generally won't get vapour lock due to it being under pressure.
The smaller diameter allows fast transfer from pump to carbs reducing heat absorption....

I've only used it twice, with no problems. Once was into Essendon, controller advised "Special VFR is available" before I could request it.
Thankyou. Good to know....

I believe avplan have been showing 3rd party adsb data for a while.
I thought this would have prompted OR to follow suit but it appears not to have happened.
-
I've been told atc in Australia are very reluctant to handout special vfr clearance.
Not sure how true.....
I'm also following the helicòpter crash. Did he only have special vfr for the class D, then went normal vfr once clear?

The reason casa will not do this is because the "system" is not 100% reliable, overheated ipads, out of range of radar or mobile data etc.
CASA don't actually have to do much. Just facilitate the means of the existing "providers" to share data.
Most of it (traffic) is available now.....so I don't see a problem.
The big one would be air services radar and adsb paints.....that would be "magic" if it happened.
The context of the data and traffic would be exactly as it is now.......It's not like I'm suggesting this be used for primary navigation or anything, just basically situational awareness to perhaps prompt a radio call....
-
I don't think Turbs understands what we are discussing unfortunately.
The point is there are regulations which everyone is required to adhered to, and they're not that hard to understandNo doubt there were regulations before vhf radios became common and/or compulsory.
As radio technology developed it became the new "norm" to have one. The skies became safer.
We are on the same track with having most traffic visually available on a single screen.
This will add another layer of safety. Will it be perfect?
No, probably to the same degree the vhf radio system is not perfect.
Will it be better than what we have existing now? Most definitely!

My only advice....
Don't buy the aircraft you can't afford to fly...
Surprisingly many do....
My aircraft is slow and simple compared to many others, but I CAN afford to do 100 hrs a year...

I have been using AvPlan for years, and cannot speak highly enough of the service I have received.
I only use the basic vfr version, and whenever I have needed guidance or had a query, they are available on the phone or call back if they are busy.
I use a Mini iPad 5 with a RAM suction mount, which works for me.
Just received my OR subscription renewal email...... definately tempted to try it at this point.

The supposed “SAFETY” regulator already has and it’s based on several lifetimes of experience. To perform to it you have to make your electronics work.
Did you read the whole thread and not understand the context of my post or just read my post straight up?
Please do tell me where I can see Ozrunways, Avplan, Airservices and Flight radar traffic all on one screen?

This is where our supposed "SAFETY" regulator steps in and makes the children play nicely together....
All data (OR, Avplan, airservices and flight radar) could be gathered and sanitised, then redistributed.....

I suggested à system like google maps driving instructions where you can hit the standby/off button and the screen goes black (saving battery and reducing heat) but the app is still running. One more click and everything appears as per normal and up to date.
Perhaps in apple devices it will run in the background but in android you need the app on and visible to keep your position visible to others.
As per other posts, no interest whatsoever.....yet alot of people say heat and battery usage are major problems.
-
I was going to suggest OzRunways should slow down on the fancy stuff and develop a way for us to see all traffic.
Does this mean OR can show traffic that doesn't use their system? Did I miss something?
If you have an approved onboard "3rd party" device that picks up adsb traffic, then apple OR with premium subscription will show it as well as normal OR traffic.

ADSB does come in handy
One thing the android version does NOT have is the ability to show adsb paints.
It has been promised as "coming" for a very very long time.

X-Air Standard. Is it surviving the test of time?

Local trike had over 1600.....owner thought he had better change it. Engine was still operating normally and within specs.
Of note, he flew multiple times per week.
This seems to be a key to longevity...... perhaps keeping the bearings oiled and moisture out.
I believe Floods used to sell short blocks but only sell complete engines now...... makes it more expensive.
