  1. I have asked the question of Eprop and suggested some models and if they are going to make them..Skyranger/Ninja/jabiru/ Savannah ....will see what comes back Will see what comes back as well as I have asked about any further info on the Jab prop Busy week this week...3 props ordered and one of them is the CSU (Glorious) one
  2. I will ask and see...The SkyRanger is popular over there..also their test aircraft
  3. I will ask Eprops if they have a Jabiru carbon undercarriage planned. I ahve also asked for a update yesterday on the status of the prop development for the Jab
  4. There is a couple in NZ now Hank. One is flying the other about to. The one who is flying with it is loving it. Much better than the orginal
  5. When I bought Mabel I thought about 12 months to do the repair/rebuild...hahahahha yeah right..its turned out to be complete rebuild. I only bought the rear fuseage frames and firewall from ICP the rest I made like Marty has....So I know what he has done so far. I like to think I am reaosnably fast when it comes to this stuff and I have the advantage of access to some great metal working machinery and its taken me almost 5 years so far...so Marty dont feel in any way under done...you have done a spectacular job
  6. Some info on the new Eprop CSU Turn CC on at the bottom of the screen to get the english translation
  7. The chute is behind the CG..not far away but at 13kg its enough to be a fair difference
  8. Mabel most likely will be a different beast to The Girlfriend. I am leaving the battery install until she is all together and I do the W&B. I have a 13kg chute installed also heavier main wheels and the exhaust and muffler will be heavier. So really not sure where the battery will end up. The battery on the S model is just behind the pilot..in the XL it was down the back. The rear of the S is much heavier than the XL so hence the battery is more forward. But with the accessories I have I think I am going to be a bit tail heavy. I think the battery may end up at the firewall between the rudder pedals and the firewall. Also of course if I have a issue then it will be a heavier type battery but if it works out I am close then maybe a lighter battery behind the pilot. I did install the battery holder behind the pilot just in case.
  9. True Marty but most likely it will be the antivaxers and conspiray nuts that will do that..the marjority most likely wont.
  10. If my place floods...I would expect to see Noah floating by...Our place is 430ft AMSL
  11. My nearest neighbour is 800 mtrs away then the next is 1km in the other direction. Being very rural I dont see any developments coming in my lifetime....I am very happy with my lot there. We both cant wait until we move there pemanantly. I have my large hangar and a house going up in 4 weeks and my airstrips...what more could a man ask for. Mind you its been an 11 years excercise but I think if I survive ( I should seeing I have had both jabs 🙂 ) we will be there next year full time
  12. Well he is a man on a mission Turbs....you know you cant hold anyone back from that...Hey I enjoy that same disease as Jack...If you had nice farm properties that give you peace and quiet and away from the madness you would understand. My wife and I turn into hermits everytime we go to our 125 acres of paradise
  13. Skippy we dont live in China....my son does he lives and works there and has done for the past 13 years...I can tell you some facts that you dont read about here. I still maintain if your doing nothing wrong then its not a problem. I think people are just too petty and full of their own importance now. Personally I still maintain there is a minority and a majority...usually in the end the majority rules because they have the required push to make things happen when it counts. Maybe I am too set in my ways. I would just like to go to my farm and get away and stay away from all the crap. OH&S and all the legal crap and paperwork and risk assements you have to fill out to even fart in a church nowdays is stupid...... well it will probably get to that...someone will be offended because I farted in church. It seems everyone gets offended even if you look at them...its all too precious now
  14. Yes but like everything Nev there are bad eggs in every bunch but in the overall scheme of things they are not like that. I have been on the revieving end when I was a teenager of the infamous Valley CIB here in Brisbane..we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time..The old telephone book trick was used on myself and a few others but you just grow up and move on. I know a similar case out in the small town I work in...local seargent was involved in the local druggos...he got tossed once it was found he was...my bosses place was used as a survelance spot so they could get the evidence...bad eggs in every single workplace and govt dept but as a percentage its very small
  15. You cant have it both ways...they are all corrupt they are all mongrels etc etc but bet your ringing 000 at the drop of a hat.
  16. But then who do you call when some grub breaks into your house and beats the crap out of you and steals everything
  17. Well the above story for me is quite ok.great the coppers are solving crimes using any tool necessary...its only a issue if you are doing something wrong. I believe in cameras everywhere to help stop crime..all these people going on its a invasion of privacy then they must have something to hide. I could not care less if someone in a control room somewhere saw me walking down the footparth scratching my arse or picking my nose. I am not doing anything wrong or illegal who gives a sh#t ? I dont have any issue of the coppers trying to solve crimes...ASIO listen into all of your ph calls and have AI listening looking for keywords. The GSM network was delayed when they put it up because ASIO didnt have all the gear in so they could listen to all the phone traffic. Crooks get by this now of course by encrypting their voice It all goes to whether you are being a criminal or not...I am not so I dont ahve to worry
  18. Its all a crock really...I havent got into this debate because there is so much BS around. The facts are this virus is going to be around for decades now or some variant of it. The only way to help you not die from it is get vaccinated but that is still no guarentee that some certainly wont fall off the perch. If you were healthy and didnt have any other issues like crook ticker or asthma or lung then most likely you wont kick the bucket. If you are unvaccinated with no protection at all then your chance of dying is much greater. Its pretty much as simple as that. If you want to take the chance then thats all on you. Remembering that if you are unvaccinated and you get it you will be shedding a lot more of the virus so you will be giving it to others , if you are vaccinated it is proven by medical testing that you do not shed anywhere near the same amount so less likely to infect others. Now we get to the real reason why the govt is crapping themselves and forcing al lot of this....the more of the unvaccinated out there, the more will get really sick..this will take up so much of the hospital/medical resources that there wont be any left to take care of the normal run of the mill medical stuff that just has to happen now. Like heart bypasses, appendix ops, cancer ops, hysterectymies, broken bones etc etc..there wont be enough beds in any hospitals. Thats the reason. The governments dont want to acknowledge that the hospital system and all the staff required to run all this medical has not grown at a rate for the population to be any where near efficient. This virus will end up like being the flu...each year you will need a jab as a booster or to combat the latest vaariant. it will never go away now it has a foothold. Until they can get a vaccine that works like polio or measals that can kill the virus it will always be around. Get vaccinated or not...its your choice if you want to die or not. Me ? I am vaccinated but I do have a few underlying issues..I get the flu needle every year and so far I havent had the flu for many many years. Anything that gives you a better chance of surviving something that will kill you has to be better than playing lotto...and you know what those odds are. Lets face it you can be walking down the road and get run over by a bus and we all have to die sometime some just earlier than others.
  19. No problem. I can only go off what the users tell me the figures they get compared to what they had before. If he is getting 145kts now and the prop hasnt been dialed in yet..I think he may hit 150 kts maybe even more. He was pretty excited on the phone when he rang me Some info I got from the factory today. The prop has been released but there will be a delay as they had planned to ship them assembled but it is way too expensive. So they are now going to ship them so you must assemble them but they want to get very good instructions and videos done to make sure they are assembled correctly which of course they need to do as there are a lot of mechanically challenged people out there. Although for the cost you would think the purchaser would get someone knowledgeable to assemble it. I know they have a stack of orders from Europe for them and also now here from Australia. I think there is going to be a bit of a wait for them.
  20. Fitted my throttle mod design to Mabels engine. Its one of the preproduction versions but very happy with the way it has come up...tracking is perfect as well
  21. Yes I do something similar..you can still do this of course with this auto system. You do the check using manual then switch to auto. I didnt come up with the idea Roger a good friend of mine and the guru who is working the new regulator and Danny Leach did. I am just the first to wire and implement it.
  22. Have a nice funky handy mod for the fuel pump that is going into this build and future ones. How many times have you forgotten to turn on or off the electric fuel pump?...I know its plenty for me. VDO do a nice pressure switch for petrol and its relatively cheap where I can get them from. The pressure switch fits inline and is setable..I think I will set it around 2 or 3 PSI. On the dash will be a 3 position switch. The switch will be auto/ off/ manual/ and a flashing LED same as I used for the fuel. In manual mode it works as normal..the pump is on when its on. In auto mode if the fuel pressure from the mechanical pump ever falls below the set pressure of the switch the electric fuel pump comes on automatically and a big red LED starts flashing on the dash. So you can pick your poison..still do it the old way or make it automatic...that way the engine should never stop because its either one or the other supplying the engine I do like the hinged dash and the equipment tray in behind the dash..it does add a small amount of weight but I think its worth it for the convenience
  23. Been starting on the wiring..I forgot its a mamoth task as well when your doing it from scratch 🙂 I am using the key switch as a master only that then switches a master relay which is 70 amps so its well big enough. You can see it on the pilot side attached to the side rail. The feed for its input comes from a 12G wire that comes from the top of the solenoid where the main positive battery cable goes to. The load side of the master relay splits in two. One to the 15amp breaker and the other to the 10amp breaker. The load side of each breaker goes then to a "neutral link" you can see both there. Then there are 4 feeds to four fuses each in the fuse block. The fuse block is split 4 and 4 for each buss. Then they go to their respective switches. There is a main earth block that all the earths of all the equipment gets connected to this also has the bolt for the main battery earth to go past then onto the starter on the engine so there are no earth loops to create noise and the RDAC for the EFIS and EMS-2 is also on the tray. The first switch is fuel pump on the 15amp buss and the DC sockets for 12V and the USB charger sockets and anything else that is not the electronics on other switches. The 10amp circuit goes to a avionics switch that has the EFIS and the EMS-2. The next switch is the radio switch this does the aviation radio and the UHF CB. The next switch is reserved for my ham radio tracker. The switch on the pax side of the centre throttle is for the DC and USB charger outlets on the 15 amp buss The Jabiru static port has been fitted to the top of the vertical stabilizer and all the pitot and static connections are hooked to the required instruments. Made a rail housing for the SP6 compass module and the SP7 AHRS module to fit in the same place I had the first ones I did on the girlfriend. All the wiring is now completed on it and it is run up to behind the dash ready to go into the EFIS Fitted the new throttle mod to the carbs to make sure its all fine and to get some final measurements for the CNC parts... I must say it feels really nice and so accurate on the throws for the carbs.
  24. Hey Skippy Your always doing compares to a Sonex...just had a call this morning from a guy who bought a Eprop from me who just re engined his Sonex with a 1500hr used Rotax 912ULS..I got the prop for him a while ago now. They flew it yesterday and they still have not got the prop adjusted correctly yet and expect more speed. At 5000 rpm the Sonex now does 145kts and the airspeed indicator has been calibrated and certified just recently..at 4500 rpm it was doing 130kts. Just some info for you
