Hey G'day Yoda! Great to see you
And yes I'm Tom who told you about this place  Hope you like it.
Got in there today and had a quick fly in the Jab - I know, a stupid thing to do in this weather... but it was quite nice once in the air, the 18-22kt gusting wind on the ground kept you on the toes, but it was good.
Hopefully some other hang glider and glider pilots will show themselves soon.
Btw, I've been looking at those Highlander aircraft also... the more I look the more I like! I reckon they are a pretty nice machine - can't wait to see one in the flesh.
Take care

From the son of Nun...How can self raising equate to celibacy. -
Yes I understand you're reasoning, and I certainly wouldn't like the fact if it was mine.Just one of those things ???? If I was spending 80 - 90K or more on a new aircraft, no matter the brand I can assure you if I found poor workmanship or quality control had been applied to it's manufacturing process, it sure as hell would not be "just one of those things"But things do happen, and just yesterday a brand new item was found faulty only after it was put to use - which then required a complete pull down to replace it. Down time on a machine plus labour costs the company the product was from, money. Even though it was a product that was robot made and lots of quality control, it failed under load...
Not an excuse, but things do happen! :ah_oh:

People who don't want to step up really let you know their plight... :clown::clown:DONT BUY AN APPLE!!!!Mind you the other brands are starting to do pretty well since they started using apples idea's.......... ;)

The only annoying things with my Mac is that it, never freezes, doesn't get viruses, easy to use and I probably should look at deleting some stuff since I'm down to only 14mb of space left on the Hard drive....

My life story I'm told.... :clown:Simple but Funnnnny!======
Sorry planey - please forgive?

Which are all standard in the iPhone... :big_grin:i have an artifical horizon, magnetic compas, GPS waypoint finder. I have seen a flight computer, directional indicator and a GPS guidance to airfields (it was american, but it is a matter of time till it gets localised).Wait till they get the new Gen 4 iPhone out (June + a couple of months), and you'll be laughing. You can multi task on the new one, so that'll increase it's usefulness a lot.
Mind you, the HTC's do look alright, but I'd go iPhone for ease of everything. Scratch the back - get a new one for $14, break the screen, get a new one for $50 or something dollars. (DIY kits)
Similar prices for either phone.
Ps. sorry I haven't actually answered anything.

And thankyou for crashing with us today..."Ladies and Gentlemen, thank-you for flying Crash Airlines. Please remain in your seats, with your straps done up, whilst Capt. Kangaroo taxis the wreckage to the Gate" -
Great to see you mate! And it's awesome to see another young person on board  (I'm currently 18)
What sort of job you got at the Airlines?
Have fun, and welcome along.

AND full credit to American journalist William Safire for this advice on, How to Write Good:
Avoid run-on sentences they are hard to read.
No sentence fragments.
It behoves us to avoid archaisms.
Also, avoid awkward or affected alliteration.
Don't use no double negatives.
If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times: resist hyperbole.
Avoid commas, that are not necessary.
Verbs has to agree with their subjects.
Avoid trendy locutions that sound flaky.
Writing carefully, dangling particibles should not be used.
Kill all exclamation marks!!!
Never use a long word when a diminutive one will do.
Poofread carefully to see if you any words out.
Take the bull by the hand, and don't mix metaphors.
Don't verb nouns.
Never, ever use repetitive redundancies.
Last but not least, avoid cliches like the plague.

Though the question is....... what was Locksy doing with an Oxy set??
"Trying to put out a water fire maybe?"
Suggested Aki"But that would be self depleting"

And just to clear up a few things... Ditah is the second child.... not first.... And I would have a serious weight issue with a queens size bed and lectric blanket, not to mention a flat (no Ooomph) battery, which would look bad in a Jabiru.
"Ah don't worry about flat batteries" said Bryon... "we will all help to push start ya!"
The dot was so overwhelmed by the generatingosity that he may even give it a thought for next time... but not for anyone else to use....... as I ...

And you wonder why I said some people must get bored....Ok..I checked out the site and you really need to have a *sick* mind to even think about collecting these things let alone developing a website.....curiously, I clicked on the starter kit button expecting to see a buy me now order for a pizza and six pack of VB...:pig:

"Cold seizure"
in Engines and Props
Posted
Hey Pud:
Agree with Nev on the thermostat thing...
I have trouble comprehending the fact that it could be a cold seizure issue (doesn't mean it isn't though!) But on take off, full power, and climbing (assuming) the airflow and power setting makes it hard to imagine any amount of cold causing a stoppage, on a water cooled engine - one of the reasons engines are water cooled... so they can handle thermal changes better.
A seizing engine sounds like it's slowly getting stalled - loads up, and stops hard. They don't just stop and windmill down. So if the pilot can remember what it did... did it windmill to a stop, or totally seize up?
