  1. I had trouble downloading to a fairly new Samsung S10 5G phone. Kept getting messages stating invalid phone number. I ended up turning off, then on, then updating before it finally just worked.

I have contact with customers still even though sparse, also all day around my son who works there, I don’t believe he could follow directions even if he was a train on a track.

i would like to think it might help if I get the dreaded rona.

all the searching I do online still pops up on every device I use even if not logged in, so somebody is spying anyway.

  2. Apparently, from posts in RCGroups, the good Depron that was used in the past is no longer made. Any Depron now is a much softer product, not very suitable for making aircraft, especially a trainer. I'm going to ask some local real estate agents if they have any old corflute For Sale signs. Bunnings have corflute sheets at $6 for a 900 x 600 sheet, but I'm a tightwad and prefer to go on the scrounge.

As for my other lockdown projects, I've finished the office saddle seat for the daughter; washed and detailed the wife's car; laid a brick edge for a garden bed; de-rusted and repacked the bearings in a couple of wheel hub assemblies and am halfway an annual maintenance inspection of the lawn mower. With the lockdown, it will take a month of Sundays to get my collected drink containers cashed in, but I need to do it soon so I can start on my motorcycle trailer.

You get sponsorship also using real estate boards, advertising space is gold, First national, PRD, LJ Hooker, you could send them a bill to cover costs.:cheezy grin:

  3. I liked Mark’s work and Brian’s. I keep all my mags in those plastic magazine racks. Going back to old issues is interesting when searching for stuff you know is there, what else you find. I have my old 1994 AUF mags still in the shed in mono colour lifo paper. At least the drop of subscription will cost less at this time.

  4. I Bought aerolites Taxi and Landing from online (ebay i think) They fitted straight into standard holders, same screw joiners on rear. My Ampmeter use to go ballistic the moment i turned any lights on with the generator and pop the fuse if on too long. Now needle sits still, people can see me miles out when coming into airfield in daytime. I feel a bit safer being visible with such bright lights.

  5. Bugger the politics. I just want to go for a fly. My plane has sat since November except for quick return from maintenance base to storage due to getting sick on a cruise, then fires, then storms, now a bloody virus. It sucks. When I did go to change the oil after 3.5hrs use on calender time, the bloody brakes decided to fail on one side so I couldn’t fly it then. After close to 6 months with bugger all time in the air, do I need a check ride for my own piece of mind or do I trust myself to get it right.

if I can fix the brakes I might just give it a go and try to forget about all the stuff going wrong, on the ground.

  6. Border Force allowed 2,700 people from a cruise ship disperse across our most populous city, having performed no scrutiny, with the vague instruction to "self isolate". These people should have been conveyed to a secure lodging (no shortage of large hotels nearby) and TESTED for god's sake. Who knows how many secondary (and tertiary...and quaternary) infections that "oversight" has caused. This level of bufoonary by those charged with monitoring the bio-security of the place should be treated as a serious crime!

Already hit the country in Tamworth, on the news last night-“we weren’t stopped only given a piece of paper with advice on isolation”. So what did they do, hop on several trains to Tuggerah and drive home. How many people will have contact infections now. READ THE PAPER AND FOLLOW IT. grown ups shouldn’t have to have their hands held over this. These people raced onto a cruise boat 2 weeks before, so not to miss out on a trip that insurance wouldn’t cover. We were already into this problem at that stage and advised to cancel unnecessary travel.

Now it is just adding to a bigger community problem.

  7. How about we have like a sausage sizzle at home where every member (who can) puts in $2 on 1 weekend a month like at Bunnings. I prefer to donate here than to homeless kitty cat shelters etc.

we have lost most of our aviation orientated magazines that are relevant to most of us.

i like my forum time here and don’t have or want FB, snippy chat or any of the others.

    cheers

    Clinton
