I flew a friend's large 4 engine TB3 model at the 2008 South Pacific Scale Masters, we made second place TEAM category. The two underwing Polikarpovs were electric, jettisoned to fly away with two other pilots. I think I had flown this model just once before that event, it was very easy to fly, engines setup to my specifications.

Do any of you RAAus members bother to even read your Tech Manual?

TINY 337. Many many years ago I'd heard of a half scale Cessna 337 ultralight being built up Holbrook way I think. A pair of Rotax 2 strokes either end. Was talking to a friend yesterday and he knew where it was! Melbourne Aquarium in some jungle waterway scene. I've never been - is it still there?

Baggage handler trapped in cargo hold

I saw a lady faint and fall onto the baggage carousel at the airport. She was okay, after she finally came around. -
DUCT or DUCK, pffftttt. It's just not worth getting your feathers ruffled over.

Zonsen Aero Engines - Rapture Aviation (Adelaide)

Though just a mockup engine, I'd almost bet that filter could not be removed with the pipe where it is! -

Garmin autoland used in real emergency

And now the real story is coming to light, there was no pilot incapacitation at all. It was all BS. Sounds like the Kingair version of Trevor Jacob parachuting from a perfectly good airplane. All very strange. -
Slick Aircraft Products L-1037 4200/6200 series magneto and maintenance and overhaul manual describes in great detail how 500 hr inspection and if/when required - overhauls - are done. Aircraft spruce has POWERUP replacement parts for slick type magnetos - some match the 4216 Champion parts list numbers. One would imagine or hope these are the most commonly replaced parts needed. Aircraft Replacement Parts & Repair Kits | PowerUp Ignition Though one page says: We do not provide parts for the 4000, 400/600 or 4200/6200 series But they clearly do. Probably basic parts common to other models. Slick Service Letter SL1-10 details to replace 4200 series with 4300 series (direct replacement) and that parts would discontinue on DEC 31 2011. Maybe the 4200 series was a February 29th joke or a SNS (Saturday Night Special). I wonder what engine they were commonly seen on. Or maybe they weren't commonly seen (SNS?) and thus the reason to discontinue support. Were the 4200 series just the FORD EDSEL of the magneto world. Given that the total usage in your plane Bathurst Bill might be low, perhaps the 500 hr inspection passes muster by the book and no parts are actually required. A 500 hour inspection is not an overhaul (but yes, could potentially become one if parts are wearing out).

I cannot help with the aero aspect Jacques, some Queensland locals will know more. You 100% absolutely MUST spend a day at Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo, just north of Brisbane. A whole day - not a few hours after lunch. Lots of international visitors there the other week when we were there again. Another must see on your drive is Paronella Park, south of Cairns. It's hard to explain what it is, but it's worth seeing. Maybe 3 hours there. When in Australia, watch out for the wild drop bears, (carnivorous Koala) do not stand under any huge gum trees for too long - keep moving. Welcome - have a great time.

Even backwards - UP the glidepath? (asking for a friend)

To about 50 feet for me sometimes. And I do serious sideslip approaches very often, for a whole variety of reasons, some to lose height quickly, but usually to exaggerate the crab angle via the crosswind.
