....the re-education Commander Up Yu. First you have to give up gin, then.......but there was no time for a post change; Cappy had jumped up and run like an Olympian for the Yangtze river, jumped in, knocked a poor fosherman out of his Sampan and was paddling for the ocean. Luckily his usual mistake of leaving the roaming on worked for him and managed to get an urgent call away to OT to fly in (ancient av rev since there was no one left in RAA to organise one) and save him................

I'm not saying you shouldn't buy automotive petrol (mogas is an American term that shouldn't be used here).
Agree; Mogas is a name applied to gasoline refined in the USA
It comes in three standards:
Regular: 87 octaneMidgrade: 89-90 octane
Premium: 91 - 94 octane
Octane rating is to the US standard.
That might make some better sense to any US owner reading this thread
Australia
Australian petrol is refined in Australia and overseas to the varieties we have been discussing.
Use only the petrol recommended by your engine manufacturer.
What some of us had been discussing on another thread, and this one were the traps to can be caught with when buying different grades of petrol.
It's not such a problem if the engine simply won't start, but if you start changing things or airways become gummed up, you can't just roll to the side of the road; you're going to be faced with a forced landing, perhaps an EFATO and you have to pull that off. Better to talk to your manufacturer.

Geez, after all this I am probably not game to buy Mogas from anywhere for my plane 🙂
Some of this is BS. It's very straightforward; you get the recommendation straight from your engine supplier, never from "the man in the video".

.....Chine Registry Office.
Chine are now looking for a Governor and a fierce debate ensued in the Chine Democratic Parliament over whether Cappy's Island, still unnamed, was within the boundaries of Chine, and whether they could have the Queen as Head of State.
It looks suspiciously like they are putting feelers out to nominate Cappy as the First Governor of Sprite.
The Chinese Ambassador for previously served in Australia, but had to leave after being told he was a wanker too many times for Comfort issue a statement to Chine that China would not tolerate audacious and mendatious actions like wanting to run your own show, and China would respond with might and awe. Capp phoned Turbo, Turbo flicked to to the Spratleys in the Challenger and just as three Chinese Aircraft carriers rounded the cap leading to THAT island, Turbo started up the Corsairs, and revved a couple. The Carriers went to full steam, two collided, denting both and the third one could be heard scraping coral on the south east corner of Chine and the raced for home. Cappy ..........

One aspect possibly overlooked when topping up tanks with fresh Mogas: if there’s still fuel in the float bowl(s), that’s got to spark up first, before the fresh stuff gets drawn in.
I've found it doesn't take the full bowl.
I've had four or five attempts with no sign of a fire up, then realised the inevitable, put some fresh fuel into the tank, waited five minutes or so, come back and first turn of the starter get a fire up, then dies but second starter attempt fies up and runs.

Between starts? One - two weeks.
95 RON
I wouldn't expect you to have start problems with 95, however:
Depending who supplies it can have ethanol in it, and you don't want ethanol gumming up air passages and eating components, so you need to have the guarantee there's no ethanol. If ethanol gums up an air passage which has been plugged during manufacture (ie no screw at end) - you can finish up having to throw away the carby. I've been caught on a couple of engines.
98 RON
For starting within two weeks I wouldn't expect you to have a problem because that's the threshold where the problem starts.
That's based on Start 1: start with new fuel, Start 2: start with Start 1 fuel then refuel, or refuel before Start 3 (fresh fuel again).
If you are getting starts with fuel older than two weeks you can join my club where some engines will become difficult to start, four weeks fuel-injected Chev 350 doesn't fire, some engines (60 year old Ferguson with Standard engine) fire instantly.

.....a sad day for Turbo who used to design refrigerated vans and tankers for the Dairy industry in the days when they carried milk, but then they decided it didn't need butterfat, and it went downhill from there with the genuine dairies walking way, their owners going to live on the Gold Coast where, apparently, they are still attending a theme park a day and watching the people walk up and down the beach, then the world's best ice cream manufacturers in South Australia succumbed and their owners moved to Nice, France, but we all knew that Brownes were far enough away that they would never give in, and now this....................

Yenn -to have your start problem, there must be something else going on - its not the unladed fuel (unless you got a bad drop),
BP Super hasn't been around since the BP Super Show featuring artists like Bob Dyer and Rolf Harris, so you need to be very careful to identify what you put in and whether it was a grade containing ethanol.
On this link click on the BP Ultimate 98 link. The starting problem after two weeks sounds like aromatics evaporating off.
Note that it is not recommended for aviation.
At the pumps it's also branded as "removing deposits" so that could also be a problem after avgas.

You do a good job but I'm not convinced that 2 litres added to half a tank will make much difference.
Yes it does, I've been successful binging a dead engine to life after finding half a litre and putting it in with about 30 litres.
