  1. such a thing would never had happened at the blue oyster club!! back to bull ,now as he dodged and weaved away from the fantastic plastics ,he had acloser look and realised that [shock horror]some of them were spam cans not plastic at all ,he could tell this from all the xxxx labels from straightened beer cans on the wings .....................

Now the other major really had his rebels in the hills to look out for,and they all flew single seaters too [Mad Buggers] Woolies had made a complaint that someone had stolen thier whole supply of plastic shopping bags. And people clothes lines all dissapeared overnight,This is what i feared cried goldylox [while polishing his new fantastic plastic]................

Now the major was,nt being a hard bastar*&^ ,he couldn,t help himself ,after his last run in with casa [he just wanted to fly into sydney]he decided anything that didn,t have flaps /autopilot/retracts 200lt of fuel and a nice shiny paint job could,nt call it self an Ultralight ,so he...................

Any way guys good luck to you no matter what you fly,and yes i dont want to give up my Fun flying, maybe a splinter group for traditional fun flying Ultralighters with max tow of 300kg single seater fun machines be created so we dont have to pay for the cta more weight /more speed lobbying to canberra something like the hang glider fed or para planes or gliders ...any thoughts??? ps insurance what are the statistics from the 80s and 90 s of LIGHT ULTRALIGHTS crashing into something or someone that justifies 10 million in cover ?Yes you might need it if you plowed an rv into a crowd or house why should we have to pay for plastics to fly somewhere we dont even go near ie houses towns ga airfields .i fly from a paddock over bush unpopulated areas and love every minute for FUN

     

     

  9. No not interested in influencing people or making friends useing a false persona. A fact is a fact a spade is a spade you can say ,yea but we all want these new exemptions and freedoms ,what a crock if we had a survey of current members of Raa we would get some honest answers from real people not some fantastic plastic pr manager...................

     

     

  10. the lack of medical requirements to get your raa licence is outdated by the weight and speed of todays fantastic plastics .The medical requirements for AUF membership where for much lighter and slower less inertia aircraft that wouldn,t really crash through the roof of a house and could be stopped and landed in very little room with very little damage.The hijacking of the ultralight fun flyer activities by the regulation dodging [we want brigade ,ie more speed /more range .cta more danger [flying over heavily populated areas]is fraud and a joke to common sence RAA has lost a lot of founding [rag and tube brigade]members because of this blatent fraud .I love flying and flying for fun ,if i want ga rules i,ll get a ppl and do the medical if i fail well,i wont fly ,icould be a danger to someones life Raa has lost the meaning of flying for fun ,its all about speed weight range and can i fly into sydney please what a joke .

Ipersonally know at least 5 raa plastic drivers who have said that they would fail any medical and thats why they fly raa ,now 600kg at 90 knots will do just as much damage as a 182 which the casa medical is for so some 60 year old pilot does,nt have a heart attack or fit or pass out because of a medical condition ,flying raa to avoid these medicals [designed with public safety in mind]in a fantastic plastic which can do just as much damage ,to me is just fraud and bypassing any safety issues implemented over a very long time ,i will be selling my aircraft and not renewing my licence in raa........................

Thanks Turbo ,Iwasn,t getting excited ,just concerned this would be swept under the carpet which would give our sport zero credability and more fuel for the media .........................................To John thank you for the open frank answers and honesty .i will drop in to boonah to say hi sometime soon thanks.

     

    Turbo holbrook is a fairly active ultralight area maybe we should look at nominated club members at active fields to monitor rego/licence compliance at active fields with friendly reminders of rego /licence renewals bfrs and such???

G,day Nev <i agree wholeheartly with your comments, it just seems that the grass roots of ULTRALIGHT AIRCRAFT have been pushed aside for the wizz bang flying plastics with auto pilots transponders,lights and bells...........What about the old school who just want to take their flying hills hoist out to the paddock for a couple of hours of fun,are we forgotten???

Thanks John for that info,and yes i am a new member but learnt to fly back in 1980 in one of the first geminis and fisher koala,s,himax ,my point being i have watched the growth of our sport and not without missgivings .Now onto RAA is a regulatory body is it not?therefore it should be able to impose fines ,restrictions,for breaches of its regulations.scenario"a car crashes into a house ,not registed driver no licence ,cops turn up and say no rego ,no licence well no investigation and no charges...................get real people!!!!!!!

     

     

  15. why has our sport been hijacked by lsa pilots who want ga priviliges without the regulation [increased mtow,longer range more payload]think back to the roots of ultralighting it was for fun and to allow the average joe to enjoy the thrill of flight ,not go 700 miles and take the dog and the misses and 70kg of luggage this is ga territory.What happenned to weekend fun flying get togethers bbqs. Now its like g,day mate wheres the fuel bowser thanks mate ,as they fly off to the Ga airport of choice!!!
