Very informative mate ,,oh i,m really scared now ,i COULD be procecuted or spend time in JAIL [scary} shame about all the drug dealers /murderers car thiefs ,and FALSE pretences fraudsters flying QUASI GA aircraft that are OVERWEIGHT as they will have no where to go ,,And if you think that is BULL well pull out the scales and check some of ourFTF<S aircraft ,AS i personally know of one that regulary flies overweight because with full full and two large people on board it,s not possible to meet the restrictions imposed by RAA on paper to cover thier ass.....what a joke.....................And to really throw the cat amonst the pidgeons ,,,CASA and RAA RAMP checks at flyins should include a weigh in of the aircraft before departure from said flyins to ensure ALL regulations are complied with as the department of transport do for heavy vehicles on our highways as the regulations are much the same ,,,,,,,see how the attendence rate drops then.......................
-
And just as an aside for our city dwelling plastic/spam can flyers,, the rag and tube rego,s have not been dropping off the RAA balance sheet because the aircraft do not exist any more, many ,oh many outback flyers have been flying and safely doing so for over 10 years or more without the horrible accident rate of our plastic/spam can cousins or the ugly costs of cta more weight RSO{quasi casa inspecters} more fee increases and the loss of a very important information booklet for members to cross check and reference in the field ,not at home on a computer.
-
Well worth the rap sheet to find out ,i think,,the occassional fine of a couple hundred dollars every 5 to 10 years is still way cheaper than paying for the Quasi GA clan to fly into controlled airspace etc etc etc etc" If you are not a member of RAA and you are not flying an RAA registered aircraft then technically you are nothing to do with RAA. "Exactly - it is then a matter between yourself and CASA. Good luck with that, particularly if a complaint is received.

All good so long as a USER PAYS system is introduced,,why do i ,who never flys more than 20 miles from my patch ,have to pay so you can fly to sydney/brisbane tullamarine at 160 kts for 6 hours etc etc etc etc etc ....RAA will never please everyone, I enjoy the privileges RAA affords me, I appreciate the aircraft I fly and have flown, I had my time of 60kts for 8 years with my trike and enjoyed it immensely, it was my choice to buy a faster aircraft and I don't regret it, I am not so much grounded these days by the winds as I used to be with the trike and I am no more at risk flying a faster aircraft. We are all aviators whether rag & tube or 3 axis and we all fly for different reasons.I fly for the freedom and the view it gives me & I have a healthy respect for the activity I participate in.
Each to their own I say

Sports aviation has been around a lot longer than RAA and still exists as in SAAA ,my gripe is false pretences of the quasi GA clan that has taken over an organisation formed for and to cater to,,,ULTRALIGHTSThat's a good way to destroy sport aviation. -
To all 95.10 flyers who have had enough of this shit,I propose we keep our aircraft fully airworthy and in top condition and also do our taxi runs down our strips on our own properties and Keep our fully licenced and rego,d trailers up to scratch as well ,and NOT PAY RAA anything recind our membership of this QUASI organisation and DARE some of you FAKE GA people running RAA do do anything about it. Try doing that to car collecters that keep cars in very good condition and drive them on private property without having to belong to ANY organisation also the no LEGAL requirements to do so ,and see how much that will cost RAA to have an INSPECTOR on every 10 square miles of private property in AUSTRALIA to ensure that during one of our fast taxi runs our WHEELS accidentily leave the ground, and the costs of PERCECUTING said 95.10 COLLECTERS for breaching their monopoly[as in the ONLY way} RULES................................
-
Thank you Ossie ,and anything over 544 kg should still be under SAAA and BE GA REGO,D and licenced ,so they can continue to kill themselves without effecting SAFE {safe,, AFFORDABLE aviation for all}
-
Because mate the quasi ga brigade are costing the true ULTRALIGHT pilot who only requires to fly around his patch the freedoms to do so,and as members of the so called RAA are paying so you can fly to Tullamarine and do 190 knots for 6 hours ...Dont understand why your so keen to divide the aircraft types and pilots Bull2 died recently in rag and tube too.Number of deaths is appaling and we have to work to reduce it. As RAa has stated something like 80% are human factor related and that flows accross all aircraft types
I recall discussion on high accident rates in "old AUF" despite severe limiations and aircraft many only suited to calmer flight conditions.
-
BUT and this is a big BUT ,those aircraft DID NOT MEET THE all up weight requirments to be called ULTRALIGHTS did they,,,,,,I was a member of the Ultralight Aircraft Association of Australia many years ago - Pitts S-1 and Thorpe T-18 are two examples of types included back then. The Pitts is a classic rag and tube airplane.-

Also if your GA mates keep crashing high performance GA aircraft under the privligages that were for TRUE ULTRALIGHT aircraft in AUSTRALIA you,ll $%#$#@ it up for safe affordable{which by the way you guys have very sneakely replaced with accessable}aviation for all, not just the rich boys...Am i the only one who noticed that in the latest sports pilot,,,,,,,,

Ultralight thing,,, as in,, the whole basis that the freedoms from GA regulation and requirements where based apon, which you and your GA mates seem to think are now your excuse to not meet the GA requirements BUT fly GA aircraft with GA privliges . And dont seem to be doing a good job at that as you are killing yourselves really quickly.......I'm interested in what you base your statements on. So far I'm not impressed with the response and I have elaborated on that. What's this ULTRALIGHT thing Bull? How about knocking my argument rather than inferring some lack of qualification. Nev -
As you can read i,ll assume you are just fishing ,,,,you can read accident reports like all us ULTRALIGHT pilots can.......................For my edification , could you identify some of these high performance aircraft? Surely no one is using the original RAAus definition. Also, of those who wish to build to the older categories, who has had barriers put up to prevent them doing so.? Nev -
same here rank
-
So the accident reports are all lying about what type of aircraft were involved and the hours of the pilots too rhysmcc,, and what sort of a name is that anyway,,, sounds like BULL to me also................sounds like just more bull to me -
Hello ,,is everybody ignoring the ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM ,that a very ,very large proportion of these accidents are occurring to pilots in PLASTIC?SPAM CAN HIGH PERFORMANCE AIRCRAFT by low time pilots ,,,hello hello

Read your latest sports pilot {if you have a computer or tablet that is }under OPS "manager or new rules or New requirements etc etc etcIf you have the evidence. Nev -
One light weight ,two medical exemptions three lighter "certificate training" four the ability to design build and ""FLY" an aircraft yourself, all freedoms that QUASI GA PILOTS ARE WRECKING BY DEMANDING MORE WEIGHT MORE ACCESS MORE EVERYTHING need i go on ....What are these freedoms bull? The second you got out of the paddocks and above 300 feet, and that was many years ago all the CARS and other CASA regulations applied. We had quite a long thread some time back on the grass roots aircraft, and didn't find any current impediments to buying and flying them.

Very interesting that ,besides the trikes a high% of the other accidents were in plastic/spam can aircraft and by low time pilots flying high performance aircraft that should be controlled by GA

Sorry Ozzie ,my mistake ,i should have said all real ULTRALIGHTS 95.10 and drifters and gemini,s etc to feel the wind in your hair and live the fun of real flying ,{not closed up inside a little world with electronics beeping and flashing etc}anyway ,,lets fly ULTRALIGHTS as the AUF was formed to cater for and use and enjoy the freedoms that some would want to use to enable them to fly ga because they are not entitalled to anymore for whatever reasons[medical/lame cost etc} and are slowly being eroded away as the line between raa and GA blurrs. I for one along with many many many other ULTRALIGHT pilots are waiting and would welcome a separation from the quasi GA clan of RAA..so bring on a breakaway group to cater for ULTRALIGHTS as this would effectivily kill RAA as so many members would leave {as they are finding out in the sports pilot bullshit}and casa.s new RPL which many will go to as the fees of RAA are spiralling out of control and the rpl has only one charge to get your LICENCE repeat LICENCE not CERTIFICATE and not be bitten every year as RAA has done.,,,,,,,, sorry mate ,,,,From one ULTRALIGHT pilot to another.............................And TST Thrusters and Drifters don't count!-

Correct mate but compass should have ,,compass course to steer cheers well doneTrue variation magnetic deviation compass. Nev.

Not a theory mate ,all i,ve said is fact and occurs all over the world every day .Do you go to tassie on the ferrys,do you go on cruise ships/ do you go to strady island or the whitsundays on charter boats mate because if you do you are trusting your life to GPS AND THAT IS FACT.......You need to try your theories out on CASA; they'll be the ones ramp checking you and asking the questions if there's an incident. -
Some of us the have to live on a tight budget mate ,after rent /food etc there is not much left so credit can only be brought in small amounts ie;20/30 that does,nt give you much download data at all ,and i downloaded the magazine once and it has cost me $21.30 to do the whole thing . So i wont be reading it again as it is out of reach for most people on a tight budget now.............bull, I have made at least two attempts to get the rag and tube people to come together on this forum and discuss any issues which are holding back this section, because I don't believe the board or the association are putting impediments, or costs, in the way of affordable flying. On the two occasions where it looked like a conversation might get going, no one came up with any financial impediment to flying at all, no one came up with any evidence of where the pseudo GA aircraft and members were squeezing them out, and both threads petered out very quickly. The truth is, you can still build your aircraft and you can still fly your aircraft.
As for the electronic magazine, I also operate a prepaid modem to get fast download speeds, and sometimes work right through the night with a continuous live download. For that I buy modem time from Telstra in $100.00 blocks and it costs me between $5.00 and $7.50 for the whole night.
In my local shipping centre there once was a large Newsagent, with three long aisles, six displays, around 20 metres long, with magazines from all round the world. It has disappeared and today there is a short line of daily newspapers in the Supermarket tobacco section.
Time to move into the 21st Century.

Asicy card as the board of the club had decided to follow others examples and bring in............

Dont worry about him Major ,i would not give him the time of day Maj bit of an idiot he is........Thing is he, or I don't know if I'll still be a board member in five years. Some of the current board members ( Eugene Reid, Rod Birrell, Michael Apps, Ed Herring, Ed Smith) to name a few have all been board members well in excess of five years. And some for twice that time.
