  1. If the 95-10 aircraft Were Not designed to be 40k, stall, & Flimsy for weight, Then add in that wing-load rule. We possibly could design & build better, & safer aircraft, that Don't fall out of the sky when Abiding by Bureaucracy.

  2. If that stall speed dictated by the Bureaucrats was a few klicks more (for 95 aircraft) perhaps doing a speedy landing (with contrary wind),  that even a really good DRAKO pilot  can get caught out , when flying so slow.

  3. "An aircraft os listed with an ASAO if it complies."

"(1) A Part 103 aircraft is listed with a Part 103 ASAO for the purposes of this regulation if the aircraft is listed with the Part 103 ASAO in accordance with the requirements prescribed by the Part 103 Manual of Standards for the purposes of this subregulation."

    Still dutch to me ?

    An aircraft is listed, "

Which part of the regulation would the aircraft be listed in.

  4. Frankly, I find the presumption that those of us who are not (because we have chosen other career paths) possessed of trade qualifications are somehow inept with our hands to be the height of occupational snobbery that is unfortunately reflected in RAAus's L2 assessment.

I agree entirely with this as only being educated for Five years, Then off to the work-force.

Studies as long ago as the 1930s showed that, within the range we are talking about, higher landing speeds led to fewer landing accidents. So how wouldCASA be making us safer by restricting the stall speed?

"It's not about making you safer, it's about limiting the risk to the people around you. You can make your own decisions and choose your own risks, but limited speed and limited weight limits the kinetic energy available to cause damage."

IF CASA wanted safety for the public, they wouldn't allow PROPELLERS on the front end of aircraft !.

"Back in the AUF days, exemptions were negotiated on the basis that the ultra-light weight of the aircraft meant that risk to others was insignificant. On that basis,

    • You can fly without a CASA license

    • You can do your own maintenance

    • You don't need an aviation medical

    • Aircraft don't need to be certified to the normal GA standards

as long as the weight and stall speed were below specified limits.

In the early AUF days the weight limit was 450kg. Then it was raised to 480kg. Then 544kg. Then 600kg. Now talk about 760kg, and campaigning for higher stall speed as well."

And they didn't have to comply with the WING LOAD Rule.

  6. How about!.

Cheap to build, Cheap to run & flies like a real aeroplane.

Can be made as a Learner (tricycle-nose-wheel), Then convert it tail-dragger to get the extra speed, & range, (61 mpg).

    AND a great looker !.

I saw the report in the EAA March 2009 sport pilot mag.

  8. " I'm pretty sure they have an "internal use" copier. "

Then again so have lots of the members. When making a downloadable copy Can ISO be used, as Microsoft & others have used,?.

Will any mag be available to "guests" & the common public, Or will it be restricted to Paying members only.

(I couldn't access it once out of the RAA,(even at the newsagent's.))
