  1. Owners of aircraft heavier then the present rules, should have made CASA, give the single engined aircraft a lower specification than is now allowed.

The new RAA weight  increase could ruin the certification, RAA now enjoys.

Full medical, full licence  for CTA, & whatever CASA  wants to throw at us.

  2. "This can be resolved by mandating CTA training and testing of pilots to the same standard as PPL, and bringing aircraft specificatiions up to the same TSO and specification level as GA.

Similarly, the health risk can be resolved by rerquiring a Class 2 medical for RA pilots."

Quicker , all those wanting that weight increase is to put them ALL in VH category'

CTA get VH & PPL Licence, Not a RAA certificate.

I can't fly with a aeroModelers,  radio control certificate.

  3. "I want a permanent site for my remains, and I want that site to contain my bones. Perhaps 100 years after my demise, my descendants might like to have somewhere to go to say, "If not for him, then there would be no me". "

Leave your body to science , People it helps will BLESS YOU.

5 Kg of ashes, make 25grams into 20 balloons.

How do you stop the proliferation of  Great Grand children ?

  4. TAKE THE CHEAP WAY !.

Buy a packet of Helium balloons about $30, With the gas.

Use a funnel the put ashes (cold of course) into balloons, Blow up, tie & give to the assembled.

One, Two, Three, all together  & away the deceased goes. At a certain hight the balloons will burst & scatter the contents everywhere.

  5. "In the Alan Joyce thread someone said "I wonder if Qantas gave him a big gift" and I quipped "His husband would give him a big gift" - it was removed. It was a joke, and typical Australian conversational humour at that.  Why the completely irrelevant off topic about someone's marriage was even allowed to run "

LoL, I can laugh now, I see your joke.

AND It was I (that some one).

I wondered if like an employee, the colleagues do a "whip-round", for the couples wedding present.

    Nothing nasty intended.

My nephew has got engaged to his partner last week, so it's everywhere.

  6. "Don't go there. Stick to a simple 2 blade with no hinges or gimmicks like the majority of engines have always had. "

They tell me that the "scimitar" prop changes it's pitch slightly,

    SO

That's the next on my chopping block for the HummelBird.

Only cost $60 or so in materials for the 37 inch HB prop.

  7. All props are NOT alike,

Many tinkerer's have spent lots of $ & hours, trying to get that last INCH per minute of climb, Or that last KNOT of speed from the very same engine & airframe,

    SO

Weather it's Power Torque,  or another deity from whatever religion you like, The prop is what makes the airframe move thru the air.

    SO

For the Same Power Torque & revs,

What prop is best for your aircraft.

    "-what-determines-which-prop-you-use"

Single blade !, is scientifically the most efficient !.

Three blade seem more balanced & good for climb,

five blade seem to be in the realm of the most power-full.

Ducted fan are suddenly making their way in the modelling world.

And if any one knows who has the rego 55-3014, there's I picture of the BD-5  Jet motor in front of their plane .

  8. "Time to hang up the headset and buy a fourby, methinks. ?"

I think you should have had the fourby, way before now., Great "four" Towing, camping & finding those elusive flying fields, That are off the beaten track.

  9. The gardens can only take so much water, the rest goes on it's merry way, but later than the house runoff, that was the norm,.

So making the deluge spread out over a longer time frame.

All new housing here has to have water retaining pits, to help stop the deluge that causes the bad flooding of old.
