  1. As of today, there are only 86 VH- marks available. One wonders if they are hoping that RA-Aus expedites the 760kg manual amendments.
  2. Ah the D-block “stump” with it’s hi-vis extension for dills like yours truly who cut the corner. Interesting results, as usual, thanks JG.
  3. Perhaps consider locating a NACA vent (or blast tube) strategically where it will provide cooling to your electronics....Specifically, ignition modules, regulator and condenser.
  4. I’ve recently discovered that even simple analogue doesn’t save money
  5. It’s actually a RANS S-20 with the Classic tail and S-21’s single-strut all aluminium wing options. With the aluminium (S-21) wing its design MTOW is 1500 lbs (680 kg), but I’m resigned to registering it at 600 kg rather that being a trailblazer. I refer to it as a RANS S-20.5
  6. Stick with your plan @Kenlsa…I don’t hold any patent or copyright over the scheme and it would be pretty cool to have a doppelgänger 😉
  7. This one is still a work in progress.
  8. Perhaps this explains why there’s no panic that CASA have only 147 VH- registration marks remaining available.
  9. Looks sweet Mark
  10. The number of available marks has increased by 24 in the past week. There are 15,863 marks on the search database out of around 17,500 possible combinations. That leaves 1,600 or so in the ether, so perhaps it’s not an imminent disaster.
  11. That wouldn’t be a problem….The weight of the regulation would ensure it never got off the ground
  12. VH-CASA 😳
  13. Less than 200 left to choose from...Are we about to run out or is there a reserve supply?
  14. Hi red750...I’m presently building a RANS S-20 in SE QLD. Just a couple of minor comments: a. There is now a variant that utilises the single strut, all aluminium wing off their S-21 Outbound. (I’m building this way) It picks up a couple of knots in cruise, thanks to the cleaner aerodynamics. b. RANS also offers the S-20 with the option of fitting a Titan 180HP or Rotax 915iS, for those with cash to spare. c. The photo above of N133TX is actually a S-21 Outbound. Subtle difference that is only apparent to an owner/builder. Regards....Rodger
  15. Grüß Gott George
  16. Another great yarn, thanks Gilpo
  17. When it comes to building, I’m a “repeat offender”. So here are a couple of observations from personal experience. 1. You don’t build if you want to save money. 2. Double the kit supplier’s indicated/suggested build time, then add 20%. 3. Build if you want to build, buy if you want to fly. 4. Over the years, people have told me they wouldn’t want to fly a plane they built themselves. My reply is, why would you want to fly a plane someone else built? 5. Airplanes are more akin to tractors than Swiss watches.
  18. I see nothing wrong with Roger. Rodger
  19. No prob.
  20. I have a completed Sonex Waiex at Kilcoy that you’re welcome to check out.
  21. Thanks Mark
  22. Aborted a takeoff and heavy braking caused the tail to rise a bit too high. Ended up with 20mm missing from the tips of my Sensenich. D'oh! Still, grateful it wasn't much worse...Nothing time and money can't fix.
