  1. Like Turbs, I think the Cherokee Six is a great load carrier - if I want to take 4 people plus gear it works really well. However, its usually only two of us touring so although my aircraft (Cherokee 180) will carry four people its really only a 2-3 person plus gear touring aircraft. Its nice not having to worry about each kilogram when deciding what to take on a trip !
  2. Great at the moment thanks Nev, are you still riding ?

  4. I did it a few years go. As well as the 5 hours there is a flight test as well as having to do a couple of multiple choice exams. After that assuming all good you can have all your PPL ratings and authorisations accepted (for those that are applicable to RA)

I visited the Shuttleworth Collection a couple of weeks ago and saw this. They are a beautiful aircraft.
  6. Flyins are great as they really are a social event where we can have endless discussions about our aircraft and flying them ! Airshows are often a bit commercial. I always attend the Antiquers annual flyin - they have activities organised and its great to catch up with friends.
  7. The one that hit me was in attack mode. Hit the wing near the fuselage. Wakes you up. Pushed the leading edge back quite a way.
  8. Happened to me a couple of months ago in the middle of the Nullabor ! Lots of damage
  9. Hi Nev, are you still riding ? Veterans down your way in October
  10. I plan on being there - although my aircraft may not be as its in maintenance. Was well attended last year. Hopefully the weather is OK
  11. I use a PingUSB - it does use USB for power only and connects to ipad via Wifi. It would not be suitable if you dont have a sim in the ipad and expect to use Wifi to connect to phone hotspot. I love it but sometimes its a little sensitive to position in the aircraft relative to the ipad. We flew about 12 hours on a trip last weekend with no issues.
  12. The amount of information we get from EFBs these days is amazing. We did what we had to before them but I think its much safer now.
  13. I have not tried SWS yet on my recently acquired Cherokee C 180. Will be interested to see what you come up with.
