  1. A "Back To Top" arrow button visible in the bottom right corner when scrolling down a page has been added
  2. That's exactly the same as the Whats New (All) selection
  3. @red750 I just tried by logging in as Corrine, a standard user, and did what I suggested, logged out, shut down browser, open site back up, logged back in as Corrine and the default was still saved as Whats New (All)...so not sure what is happening in your case...can you give me any further info? UPDATE...I just logged in as you and the Whats New default was showing Whats New (All) so it has saved it as your default
  4. Go to Whats New (All) and then on the right select Stream Options and then Set as your default stream
  5. On the agenda @red750 it will take me a couple of weeks to get everything fully migrated, sections opened up and changes made but it will get there. At the moment my focus is acting on the posts that get made in here, resolving any issues that users have or change what users don't like
  6. Is that fixed now?
  7. @RFguy is this the view you are saying has a lot of wasted space:
  8. Yes, it will be left like this. I posted back in June that the direction the old software was going and that it was not good. It would confuse everyone in using it and we would have had to have upgraded to that at some time...it was meant for young and technical people and more into the gaming type of communities...it was mixing articles etc with different display formats etc into the forum threads etc and in some cases every time you create a thread you had to decide if you wanted it as a discussion, an article, a poll or even select that you were asking a question, very confusing for the user. Plus the new layout would require a lot of work to make it appealing and easy to view and use. This software is more expensive but more in line with having different sections for you to choose what you want to view/use. I am guessing you don't want to view Forum Threads like this: I hope this helps to explain things
  9. Hi, you are now seeing the site after the complete update made on Tue 22nd Sept 2020 and to ensure all issues are addressed and any suggestions are implemented PLEASE post them here so I can address them. I can't address anything that is not posted so please post...thanks, I am hoping, with your help, we will create a whole new future here for Recreational Flying (.com) Please note there is still a lot more work to do to complete the migration and create the different sections
  10. Here is a screen shot of the new clean and fresh look:
  11. Hi all, this is just an advisory that it is planned for the site to close for a major software upgrade starting at around 4am on Tuesday morning 22nd September 2020. The closure will probably last till about late morning...I apologise for any inconvenience
  12. A huge thank you Red from every site user
  13. The new Books section has been added to the Off Topic site Social Australia so you can see what it is like and I am sure it will be a great asset to Recreational Flying with all the different Aviation books out there. Thanks @FlyingVizsla for the suggestion, greatly appreciated Also note that if you can purchase the book from Amazon Books then a Buy This Book link appears. If you do choose to buy the book, the site gets a very small commission which helps to pay site costs...a win win...enjoy
  14. The new Movies and Television Shows section has been added to the Off Topic site Social Australia and it is in my opinion brilliant:
  15. It works like normal, there is a comment box at the bottom of the listing. Both Books and Movies follow the same design except with movies, an entry also has the stars listed and their short bio Here are some screen shots of Books: Ans here some screen shots of Movies: The Off Topic sister site www.socialaustralia.com.au will probably get these extra sections added first but they will be general lists unlike here which will be Aviation related only
  16. Do you want a complete section on Aviation Books that is easy for anyone to add a book if they have the ISBN number:
  17. Phil, the Off Topic site is now called Social Australia and your password should be the same one you use here on Recreational Flying. When you tried to register again the message you would have seen is the site is not taking any registrations. That message is shown to anyone not in Australia, for them I would have to manually register them, it keeps the spammers out, Try your password you use here and let me know if that works OK
  18. I think it is time to revisit the site, its function, its capability, its service to all recreational aviators. Time to perhaps look at a Wish List of what the site could perhaps deliver/provide you all...so how about it, what would you like to put on the Wish List? I will start although derived from a specific user's request: Aviation Book List - details about the many different books written about aviation Aviation Movie List - details about the many different movies concerning aviation Plain English Weather Converter After all, I am stuck here in Melbourne in lock down so it will give me something to think about/do ...over to you
  19. I am no longer a "member" and I use the word "member" loosely as these days you are simply a customer that pays them money as a company...they are purely an administration just like CASA is and the RAAus board along with the current CEO made sure of that. They stole our "community" of like minded recreational enthusiasts in a hostile takeover fashion to create a business. If you no longer fly an RAAus aircraft it is not worth paying a company for administrative services that you don't use and very silly to give a corporate money to support their company. Do you go up to your local Cafe and give them $200 just so they can stay a cafe in case one day you may feel like a coffee? I no longer fly as I have self grounded myself due to vision issues so why pay a business, different if they were an Association of members of like minded recreational aviation enthusiasts.
  20. That is strange...the only thing off the top of my head that may cause that is the link is using a https://www. and you may be using the site address without the www which means your saved log in is what is causing the issue. The easiest way is that once you are on the site, click the "Envelope" icon towards the top of the side column and go to your conversations that way...try that
  21. I just logged in as you and didn't find any issue. The fact that you have logged in to make your post means that you should be able to reply to a conversation, no extra password is needed. Can you take some screen shots of the issue you are having and show me
  22. As many may know I get coding and Admin support from @Ahmed Zayed who lives in Egypt, well he has just become a father for a 2nd time so a HUGE congratulations from everyone here at Recreational Flying
  23. If it is a 2003 version should it be a allowed to be downloaded as it will be full of incorrect info...dangerous
  24. Are you referring to an "Over shoulder bolder holder" or also referred to as a "Double barrel sling shot"
