The MILES Gemini was prettier than any of them. If you can't feather the Props, it's not likely to fly well on one engine, so not a lot of practical use. With engines you have twice the chance of an engine failure. Mishandling of Twins causes many crashes. VMCa is usually well above the stall speed. Nev

being able to fly on one engine was one of the requirements of the design. the south africans asked for a jabiru that could fly over tiger country from what i have read.

Fly   a bit  further on one engine, perhaps?  You tell me what AUW it will fly on one engine at and maintain height. Nev

Where does it mention single engined performance or a VMC(a) for engine out? On One you have only 80 HP at WOT at sea level . Usable wt is I assume, Payload . One 80 HP motor is not going to lift those figures Conveniently labelled "EXPERIMENTAL".. It can never meet modern certification performance requirements. Nev

it only has 280kg payload.  i am only passing on what is on the jab website.

so if it can't fly on one engine , what is the purpose of it.  might as well have a j230

Will fly on one engine. Sue gave us an update last Thursday. The USA one is flying into Oshkosh. It’s built to fit Mozaic. I’ll let Jabiru announce the specs and performance etc in their good time. Some detail will be on their Webb site.

I just cannot see the Purpose of it.  It's solely a  South African Project as far as I can tell. It can only extend the glide if you have some height. I know that engine RPM synchronisation (or Lack of it) drives you nuts with the fixed pitch Props. With CS, it's a lot easier. A lot of multi engined planes  have Auto Synch engaged when you get them close, otherwise it drives everyone Nuts. Even people on the ground. Nev

 It Certainly cannot carry a useful weight engine out in the form Presented. Even With the Modern Ones IF the engine cannot be feathered you don't go anywhere, and VMC (a) is even higher so your control difficulties are magnified and climb performance is further degraded. Feathering is a must. How many of you have flown assy? It's critical even when everything goes well . Nev
