Our understanding of the 2 European conflicts underway is skewed by the outrageously slanted reporting of our  established mass media. There are many alternative sources reachable through the internet.

Searching *judge Napolitana, George Galloway, Nima, Paul Craig Roberts* and others brings one into touch with well researched and objective accounts furnished by well connected and independent analysts.

The truth is there for them that wish to know.

Not sure what this has to do with Chinese aviation. But there is a simple truth about Ukraine, no matter what news source you look at- ruzzia invaded Ukraine. If they just go home, the war can stop. That's the truth.

If Russia abandons Ukraine the ethnic cleansing of Russian speakers will resume. Sorry, this thread is about  Chinese supply/exports and my bad for thread drift. I'll desist respectfully from unrelated topics. Don

Ukraine & Russia have intertwined histories. Most of the population are bilingual. Their traditions ,secular & religious are very similar.

I strongly doubt that any such "cleansing" has taken place, if for no other reason that it would be impractical to sort the Russian from the Ukraine speakers.

On the other hand I think it highly likly that the peoples of the Russian occupied regions, are being brainwashed into good little Russians.

Your comments sound very much like Putin propaganda rational for invading  - to save the Ukrainians from the Nazi government , etc😈

IMHO I'm not brainwashed. For an example of brainwashed (ie. Brain-dead) refer to Rutte calling DJT "daddy"! Hahaha.

Much.

But I did too in school. There's a great book that got me up to speed with logic in argument that I read years ago. It's called Straight and Crooked Thinking by RH Thouless. It was first published in the 1920s and I think has a fairly recent edition.  Read that, and let's continue this thread about CHINESE AVIATION.

Did the book tell you about the cunning level of misinformation that would be readily available in the 21st century? 😄

Chinese car maker BYD is sending a message to other hyper car makers and possibly the USA were they are not permitted to sell cars atm I believe.

I'd like to know what kind of tyres they're using, that can stay together safely at 472kmh!! Not Chinese ones, surely!!  🤯

I won't have Chinese tyres on the steers of my truck, and I know a lot of other truck drivers who think the same. I'll use Chinese tyres on the drive, but there's only two steer tyres and I want them to be the best I can buy! I blew a front tyre once, on an old ACCO tip truck I that owned back in the 1970's - when it blew, (on the LHF) it pulled me straight off the road, and there was nothing I could do to stop it!

And that truck was flat strap at 85kmh. My current truck does 119kmh ex-factory, so more speed today to go further off the road!

I hate to think what would happen if one of those EV tyres blew at 400kmh+, it would rip huge chunks out of the car. I've blown rear truck tyres, they usually take the entire steel mudguard off with them.

Electic motors are ideal for producing very high speeds. In the 1960s we raced insanely fast slot cars; Pylon RC Aircraft racing has been popular for many years. It's based on the Torque x rpm = horsepower relationship; spin the motor faster and exponential brake horselpower is generated. However there are two militations; one is heat and the other is the rule exponentially more power demanded = exponentially shorter battery.  1/4 mile Drag Racing is an application where we are starting to see some battery powered cars.

Porsche, a division of the badly failing VW Group is suffering very poor sales in China. I can understand Chinese choosing local cars after seeing what they put out from local manufacturers. If they can put a lander on the moon and an orbiting lab in space they can make reliable tyres. Perhaps they think like we do and have no time for us. Wouldn't blame them if they bother to read what Hastie, Buffin Joyce, Albanese or Wrong etc mouth off.

I can remember Bex - r- better saying much the same thing in his frustration with us, and it’s interesting that two giant Chinese retailers already have warehouses and retail outlets in most States of Australia, delivering our internet orders sometimes same day.

I have two memories of their abilities.

In one case a former boss of mine went to China and set up a plant to make panels which resulted in a very successful business. A Chinese official came to his factory a couple of years later and said “We’re building a free way through here, we’re going to move you there (about 20 km away), what design do you want for your new factory. In Australia this would lead to a digging in 5-year process, trifling compensation etc. They said they were paying for the new factory and all transfer costs, so he accepted the deal, got a newer, bigger, more productive factory and today is worth upwards of $20 million.

The other case was when the South Korean cars started chewing into General Motors’ Holden sales in Australia. The Button plan ensured that local manufacturing couldn’t compete, so around 2004 the Director of Finance at Holden was sent to China to set up and build a Carline for Holdens to beat the South Koreans. By the time he had it part built, GM realised the new middle classes of Chinese business owners had started building McMansions to live in and China had become a Car country as against people in blue overalls and riding bikes, and took over the line to build Cadillacs in much bigger volumes than Australia could sell Holdens.

This is one of the early promotional activities in Shanghai in 2011

Cadillac Stunt Drivers Shanghai - link

GM went into a joint venture with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC)

They build a factory with 160,000 capacity per year. Cost was $122 billion.

It’s the only plant in China to achieve 100% automated welding.

It has one line for steel bodies and another line for all-aluminium bodies (with laser brazing).

SAIC – GM produced 673,007 Chevrolet/Buick/Cadillac in China in 2024.

Since 2017 China has been Cadillac’s biggest market
