Can the owner of a L1 maintained aircraft use the aircraft to obtain a design feature endorsement with a suitably qualified instructor.? The engine is on condition.

Given that you can be trained in your own amateur built aircraft I can't imagine why not.

I have been told I can use my 19 rego aircraft for my tail wheel endorsement.

just a point....does the LSA mfr accept running the engine on condition? many do not. and owner build of course is u constrained compared to factory built...

The Instructor has the right  to Not fly(train) in any aircraft. There's some question as to who built the plane and that may be the only one who can train in it. All that's fair enough if you think about it..   In the SAAA some planes are literally one off. Non Instructors can be involved in endorsements  By arrangement and approval  on an individual basis...Nev
