Loved mine, flew it all over NSW and Vic. Had it for 10 yrs Great aircraft if you are not in a hurry. Would have another in a shot.

Ever fly it without the fuselage skin?

I'm guessing it would be more draggy without the skin which is less of an issue if you are going slow anyway.

It might take a few knots off cruise and increase fuel consumption but offset against easier and cheaper construction.

Yeah I guess you might be right. It may have less surface to attract a crosswind. But propeller slipstream may be altered abit over rear control surfaces

You'll enjoy flying the Xair, they are nice to fly and I hear better without the rear fuse skin (Farri told me as a mate of his had one at his strip a few years back).  Putting the new engine on it and with SAAA or remain RAAus?

It has new 618 got 100 hours on it, new skins at same time, spare 618 with 300 hours, been checked and crankshaft OK for rebuild engine to qualify for re zero time, I believe.

I have new hangar just finished at Wowan Qld, was gonna build airstrip at home, but decided I will just clear  open paddock here to fly  in and out of, to Wowan hangar where my Aeropup and J230D are.

By not building designated strip here, that may draw the Council Crabs, I can fly our of here with less drama using the X Air.

Has got standard entry. If it has it's a pia to get in and out. I fitted a wide entry kit to my last xair. Made a huge difference. My new one has been widened even more.

I also have a direct contact at the factory and get any parts I need from them. The Australian agent is hopeless.

I have an email address for a bloke at the factory in India. Sometimes he takes a while to respond but most of the time he is fairly quick. I had the parts I ordered 5 days after I spoke to him. Freight is expensive but it's quick. Actually it's a Facebook address not email. Will get it for you.

Wondering IF there is an X-Air POH available anywhere? Oz website does not have much at all? An Indian website shows it, but links are broken?

The Indian company that builds the kits has taken over the operation from randkar, the French owners of xair. So the website maybe getting changed. I spoke to the parts bloke this week and everything is still available from him.

I can email a copy my poh for you when I get home in 2 weeks.

Maybe try Xair Ireland  they have a webb site for all models.  I purchase my electric carb heaters off them.  Always been helpful.  Cheers.
