It came from a pilot in the area who heard the call, spoke to him today at the airport. How do you think they found the aircraft so quickly ? They knew where to look because of the pilots call. Do you want the pilot's name who heard the mayday call ?
Don't shoot the messenger if there is something you don't like hearing.
Its reported by ATC in a mayday call. Not bashing but its a fact of life. You have a MUCH higher chance of an event in a Jabiru powered aircraft than anything else. Just ask CASA.
I think the later, Plane Crash headlines sells papers or whatever they call it now, just like the headlines SHARK ATTACK, you have to click or look further, same with aviation.
Pilot dead after plane crash in bushland south of Townsville - https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/pilot-dead-after-plane-crash-in-bushland-south-of-townsville/ar-AA11GXfI?li=AAgfYrC
Could you please ask them to send my parcels, they have been lost for about that long.
A set of driving lights for the wagon and a winter coat. Winter will be over if they ever arrive.
you sit in front of the wing in that aircraft so visibility forward and to the side should be reasonably good. It all comes down to just the same problem as most of them and that is we get distracted in the cockpit and don't keep a good enough look out. See and be seen, see and avoid and all the other things which are taught. Why couldn't ATC just say keep the left turn going you look like you are lined up on the wrong runway and there is traffic near you or something like that ?
I was only commenting on something which was on social media shortly after the accident.
There could or could not be any truth to what I read regarding the runway clearances but they made it very clear in what I read that the Cessna was doing the right thing and the other aircraft dropped into the Cessna.
Of course this information will be corrected at the start of the investigation.
I was just commmenting maiinly about the fact that parallel runways have a lot of accidents especially when you havve students operating on contra circuits and they don't have the skills to turn properly yet or to maintain a centreline.
Yes, parallel runways AGAIN ! Should have been on right and tried to land on left. Most stupid aviation thing ever built, two runways side-by-side about 100 meters apart
Its a corrupt system they use if it is as you say above, dont like the 10 minute extensions, thats fraud, it should finish at the finishing time period.
don't believe everything you see on Wikipedia because most of it is submitted by you and me and may not be perfectly accurate or it may be specific to some country which has a limit of 560 kg or 540 kg or whatever it is
they used to be imported through our local airfield. I don't think they were ever 540 kg. All of the ones I saw were 600 kg and I know the early ones used to wobble through turbulence but the later model which they called the S4 was rocksolid and could fly through a hurricane without losing stability or direction. They seem to be a very well-made and well supported aircraft. The only downside was if you were fat and overweight (I guess you can't be one or the other) and had week upper body it was a little bit difficult to get yourself in and out of the seat some of the heavier and older members had this issue but if you are fit and didn't have 80 years behind you you could do it pretty easily. I found the controls to be very well-balanced and it was honestly like flying your own little fighter jet!
the name of the aircraft very obviously came from the shape of the wing. I can't say I have ever seen any of these around in my travels.
The photograph underneath the wing shows some unusual fencing, I can't figure that one out ?
