you can run FSX on a Mac, but you have to do it from Vista or XP, i have the drive partitioned and one is running leopard, and the other boots up into Vista, FSX is installed in the vista portion of the drive. i also have fs9 running in XP via Parallels though for some reason its not very good.
FSX in Vista is running at 35 frames per sec at maximum resolution and every grapic option turned on. though my mac is a dual core 2.6 ghz with 5 gig of ram. and nothing elses installed ont he vista partition except flight sim and gps stuff.

i have a good problem for all those computer people out there! i have a Imac running Leopard, and connected to the net via ADSL modem and an Airport express, it was very easy to set up on the mac, just turn it on and it was all auto detected and setup, no i have revived my old PC, and have a wireless receiver, though i cannot get it to connect to the net via the airport express. it keeps asking for network keys, WMP access hexadecimal codes etc....
is it at all possible to connect a PC running XP to the internet via a wireless, be logging into the network between the Imac and the airport express???

or maybe a pilot made it through the clouds unharmed, despite the clouds attempt to block his path

where the prop stops on shutdown dictates the prop position.

one of the last things on most checklists for ditching/forced landing are usually canopy or doors open before impact/landing. to help ensure they dont become jammed closed by a bent airframe.

nothing, and i mean Nothing is built to last anymore, everything built to a budget or bottom line, i have noticed even Road quality has declined rapidly. the new M7 is starting to undulate, yet the 30 yr old F3 going north is still as smooth as the day it was built.
this is the reason i bit the bullet and bough myself a nice big 24 Inch Imac a few months ago!In the mean time I completely trashed my PC - wiped the hard disk completely clean with a re-format and did a complete clean fresh reinstall of windows and everything else. I normally do this every 6 months or so which was due at Christmas time but didn't have the time. It gets everything cleaned up and working at it's peak.WOW, WHAT A DIFFERENCE - the internet is like browsing my own hard disk - I'm talking milliseconds for a page to come up - getting consistent speeds of around 800k to 900k a second - a web page may only be around 50k to 100k (disclaimer on that statement). The huge screen, the completely clean computer and a heavy complaint to Optus has left me with a big -
im surprised Rotax arnt all over tis story like a rash.

i think almost all millitary tndem and single seat fighters are left handed throttle and centre stick, i know Hawks and hornets are.. though HUD and radio controls are on the throttle as well.

obviously hiding your money in an aircraft is a good idea...

possible engine fire, lots of smoke... mayday it is for me.
-
mate, considering the circumstances, you did very well! an inflight fire is probably the worst event that can happen (even if it turns out to be burning coolant) you kept your head cool, made the right decisions, and got yourself and the aircraft back in one piece...
well done.

in short. yes. report it. it wont matter if the flying establishment reports it as well, but the cause might be an issue that otehrs have suffered and might require thurther investigation from the manufacturers or whoever. so the best policy is to report everything

My vampire has a Symmetrical aerofoil profile... so is it possible to stall at -16 deg AOA?
-
flying can still be cheap, my vampire cost me $16,000. cruise at 85 kts, and a hell of a lot of fun... sure i would love something that can take me interstate, but if i need that, then ill hire it.

in my younger days, gee i make myself sound old now, i did 2 weeks work experience with 38 sqn and the caribou, it was good fun, especially after the 2 nd day i was flying regular sorties in the back seats.

i would love something like that, built like a truck, good low speed performance, and heaps of power! just convert the hopper to carry fuel, and you will have a great long range cruiser
