one of the best things i liike about my MAc, is the RSS feed reader in the screensaver. i can read the new posts from sites while watching the screensaver, some days i just rea the screen without even touching the computer.

aviation law can sometimes be very vague, and in cases like this its vague for a reason, such as bad weather approaching might make flying a normal left hand circuit impossible without loosing sight of the field, or remaining in VMC, and hence the vagueness is a way out to allow you to safely land with a Right hand circuit and not actually break any laws.

but the general rule is Left hand circuits at all times, unless specified in the ERSA and as required at certain airports, for such things as terrain avoidance, noise abatement etc. the reason for this is Visibility and hence, safety. you can keep a good eye on the circuit traffic, and the airstrip, from the left hand seat.

now all i have to do is decide what type of resin to "borrow" heat resistant to 250 deg C? hmmm no, flexible resin? hmmm no, part doesnt change shape at all, metal impregnated resin?, no too heavy, and might effect radio and compass, nahh good old fashioned polyester friendly epoxy will do... shame its pink

thanks for that, fortunately i work in a composites workshop, so resins, and fibreglass etc are no problem, i just needed to kno what if the resin is Polyester,vinylester,polycarbonate or epoxy systems, so i know what type to borrow from work.

if my memory serves me correctly, then LC36 is an epoxy.

just a quick one, what type of resin is used in the Jabiru airframe? i need to do a small repair...

flying an IFR equipped aircraft, with a Current IFR licence, into IMC, even with TS's nearby isn't Illegal ! unwise? maybe. illegal NO.

as for the weather, were the Storms Towering CU? or just CU with heavy rain and lightning?

good morning, yesterday was quite a nice day, high cloud with storms developing into the night 13 mm at dubbo, but fortunatly it was dark when it started, today so far has high cloud but very grey looking, couldnt think of a better place to sit at the bar in this weather than at Narromine..:)

troughs tend to usually generate thunderstorm into the afternoon, and less rain with a more powerful high, which this is..

also the charts on the BOM site arnt showing a trough, and predicting rain on sunday onwards. clear friday and sat.

just waiting on CASA to get off their lazy arses and sign off on it, the same bill includes the CTA endorsement..

In early Jan, CASA told us it would be done by end of Jan, now its 4 moths later and still no sign.

sadly our aircraft are needed for training over the weekend, otherwise i would have taken the tecnam...or even the Jab, but students come first. also it was a little late notice, so next year i will plan to fly up, but tis year its back to the original plan and drive..

this happened over prospect reservoir a few weeks ago,

we were approaching the inbound point at prospect about 2 miles behind a cherokee, on calling inbound the cherokee alerted Bankstown ATC to a cessna orbiting over the inbound point.

the cessna landed a few mins behind us, without making 1 more radio call dispite the tower trying to make contact.. didnt even respond to a cleared to land transmission..

Does anyone know where i can hire a J230/LSA or Tecnam in the Sydney basin, Wollongong? Camden? specifically the Narromine weekend from Friday to Sunday?

ill be flying, and have 500 hrs in jabiru LSA/J230 and Tecnams..

just have a read of the coroners report into the crash at goulburn, it will give a good indication of the type of operator Mr C is.

mine is the SV2, the SV3 has been built to take the HKS 4 stroke 2 cyl engine, has Upturned wintips,as mine are downwards. nosewheel is longer, cooling ducts on either side of the pod under the wing has been redesigned and thats about it, the rest is identical.

thats the new SV3, he is still building it at Albion Park, though it hasnt had much work done in some years, which is a little discouraging, i thik he spends 99.9% of his time working on GA aircraft, and does little bits here and there on the new one, he also has several older SV2's in the hangar..

What does Jailbreaking do to it and how is it done?

when its "jailbroken", you are re-installing a modified version of the original operating software, but modified in a way that allows non approved software to be run.

a locked Iphone wont have MMS or video, when its Jailbroken, then you can install a MMS app, and also a Video app, so you can record video with the camera.

also one its jailbroken, there are countless more apps that are far more usfull from unapproved developers, such as the ability to change background pictures, use anu sound file you want for a ringtone, even remove the sceen lock screen, and apps that allow things like Shake to answer calls instead of swiping to answer.

to jailbreak your phone, you need a bit of software called pwnage tool, you install this on your computer, and pretty much follow the instructions.

this will install an app called cydia, which allows you to install apps from countless developers, that arent approved or affiliated with Apple, such as themes etc...
