  1. more than happy to continue talk Sky 2 (good for tecnam chatter) Compressions and power normal ................. I believe I'd say the higher you go the better your speed - don't think 2000 ft would be the optimum height ? lets do a climb test - let us know your parameters and result and I'll do the same (suggest known aircraft weight and a ___________ knots ? entry speed and time say a 2000 foot climb at say ___________ knots ?) Just beware the air in oz is much cleaner than the states so you'll be up against some stiff competition
  2. Yesterday took brutus Bravo to 2000 feet - OAT would have been 25 degrees - 150 kilos of pilot and fuel - no wheel fairings - standard timber prop flew one way - then reciprocal back - it was a lumpy day and suspect plane was in lift and then sink .......... not the best day for record taking rough recording was as follows - speeds were (REVs: IAS / GPS) OUTWARD 5000: 103 / 95 5200: 104 / 94 5400: 119 / 110 INWARD 5000: 103 / 105 5200: 104 / 110 5400: 110 / 114 5600: 115 / 118

  9. no lines on road - do not overtake unless safe still don't reckon it makes sense / logic to me - there are many km's of road with no line marking ..................... (no sign disclaimer there)
  10. ROAD SIGN - 'no lines on road - do not overtake unless safe' .............................. implies to me - if lines are on road - you can overtake if unsafe
  11. good luck .................. and go get 'em Don
  12. as said before - get passenger to participate .............................. good one is visual outside - if you see something (bird, plane, etc) indicate / point it out ensure they know how to access fresh air vents so they can adjust

  14. there should have been some grandstand seating inside the hangar - there'd be plenty that would pay ........ just sign a simple disclaimer and off you go
  15. Confucius say: you live in Longreach where land flat as a pancake .......... driving no help you live on hill, driving will help as more gravity management required ........... (assuming gearbox used [not many drivers] not brake pedal [most drivers])
  16. Ironically forums such as this (this forum) .......................... will become even more valued and important in conveying information Pennies from heaven Ian (Ian the forum owner) ................... pennies from heaven
  17. I don't think it matters much how many hours it takes someone going solo - it maybe not even the measure of the student - it could be the measure of the instructor (congrats Aldo 8.9 hours to solo ! great stuff) - and I don't think any student will drag their knuckles on the ground reading this either) I think students getting into this zone would like to know about these aspects ? ............. the other day I went for my first fly in 2 months ! (wind, work, wages) - I thought at the time it was just like going solo all over again
  18. 17.5 ! hours to solo; 30 + years ago and I did n't care the least - have enjoyed every bit of it .............
  19. the same forensic scientist doing that recommended study could 'muderously !' drive home ...................... and take out any number of cane toads, dingoes, snakes, locusts, bees, cockroaches, worms, rats, mice, kangaroos, wallabies, rabbits, flies, sandflies and any other number of god's creatures ........................ who checks the checker ?
  20. After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, British scientists found Traces of copper wire dating back 200 years and came to the conclusion that Their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 150 years ago. Not to be outdone by the British, in the weeks that followed, an American Archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet, and shortly after, a story Published in the New York Times: "American archaeologists, finding traces of 250-year-old copper wire, have concluded that their ancestors already had an Advanced high-tech communications network 50 years earlier than the British". One week later, Australia's Northern Territory Times, reported the Following: "After digging as deep as 30 feet in his backyard in Tennant Creek, Northern Territory, aboriginal Billi Bunji, a self-taught archaeologist, reported That he found absolutely bugger-all. Billi has therefore concluded that 250 years ago, Australia had already Gone to wireless."...
  21. ................. did that flight ever land at all ? .............. if so, which runway did they finally lay some rubber on ?
  22. yes good idea Turbo ................... where there is a fair chance it was an error - leave out the details that identify the person, plane, place and accident location. We need to hear things we can all learn from
  23. can we get some video of that Phil .................. I'd like to see the flare at the landings (or at least the 3 wheel ground contact low flying technique)
  24. condolences to the Pavans, friends & associates ......... hoping we can hear some cause answers to this event
  25. ........ I disagree .............. thank god for a democracy I think if pilots wear a nappy they exempt themselves from going to the toilet - and I'd suspect some probably do anyway - who knows (they have all worn them before anyway) If there was a fill in person on the A320 tragedy .................. this entire thread may not of even of been posted
