  1. I consider the original post and the following posts to be inappropriate, uncalled-for, disturbing, un-respectful, unjust, unfriendly, considerably rude, provoking, harassing and disturbing and very uncalled for... especially considering there are members here such as our own Solomon who recently undertook some flight training with Motz... To claim that this young man and his family are sponges or claiming more than they should... or are somehow living it up in luxury after the horrors they endured in order to provide a better economic future for their future generations of Australians... It makes me sick.

About bloody time... this sort of XXXX should be squashed. Follow your own guidelines Moderators. The original offensive post should have been moderated a long time ago.

  4. I agree Metalman -if you don't like this kind of humour don't read it. ! I'm a bit sick and tired of being told what I can and can't say.

It's not about what you can and can't say... its about not spreading poisonous untruths around our community. In order for this to be remotely humorous you would have to think that the statement contained within is true... this is ignorant and inflammatory.

  5. The problem as I see it is with the aviation industry in Oz as a whole... I am certainly no expert but I have recently earned my pilot certificate with Ra-AUS and I have worked in the aviation industry for a few years now... CASA doesn't want the responsibility of caretaking any aviation activity in Australia... they are lazy and have just set up their version of speed cameras to add to revenue and left the operational regulation up to the participants... sadly in RPT as in GA and RA the self auditing has been made a total mockery of if its been done at all(as it seems in the case of Ra-AUS for the last couple of years... just my opinion based upon my experiences.

  7. Constructive criticism...

Given that CASA has recently audited Ra-Aus... I would ask Ra-Aus to show me their records showing the past and ongoing auditing they have undertaken of the commercial operations they have been tasked with overseeing on behalf of CASA... shouldn't be too hard but then again given the enormous growth over the last few years it may take a bit of effort.

  9. Seriously- This country is turning into $h*&, what ever happened to the old days, when a person tripped over on a crack in a foot path.Brushed themselves off.Thought to themselves how stupid THEY where for not seeing the crack and falling over .Or slipping over on a wet floor in a supermarket whilst wearing crappy footwear . Or hurting themselves in sport.Nobody got sued etc.I have had my fair share of come offs on motorcross and enduro bikes when racing around when younger.Eg- I passed a bloke on a XR600,(Me on a Yamaha WR426) then out braked him at the next corner, about 10 metres in front of us,he smashed into me. Next thing his bike is on top of me whilst I was sliding down the track. I called him a wanker, but I wasnt going to sue him There seems to be a bunch panzies being brought up in this world today. Here is a hint- If worried about getting hurt in anything, sport you play or general day to day life.It maybe safer the stay at home in a padded room.

I think this little furphy was started by a lawyer who didn't want his client to face his responsibilities... this idea must save the insurance companies millions now so many of us are repeating it.

  10. Last Saturday evening we had a extremely severe thunderstorm in Mackay... the 7 year old daughter was petrified and spent a good hour sitting on me holding on for dear life... lol. I taught her to count the flash bangs to comfort her as it moved away...

The next morning we watched some YouTube Weather videos my reasoning being that an understanding of how Lightning and Thunder are formed would help alleviate her fears...We learnt all about positive and negative charges and moving air masses so it was all good and educational for us both.

That afternoon her Uncle dropped around and I told him about her fright during the precious evenings storm but it was ok now because she had learnt all about where Thunder comes from... "And where is that...?"he asked.

"It's the sound of the hammers in Santa's Elves workshop"she told him.... So I guess YouTube has it all wrong... Sigh.

  11. My recent experience with WH&S in Qld certainly points to a need for some sort of harmonization... there is a lot of confusion and compliance issues in small business it seems. Let's hope the application (assuming they are compelled to apply the rules!)does not prove too onerous on them.

It seems that the BIG issue here is not having too few rules and regulations but a lack of proper auditing and compliance with the framework that already exists.
