Yeah... Was thinking about this while taking my daughter to school... 2-6 seats ...+1 pax...No Donny, because a single seat aircraft does not have a passenger seat, it only has a seat for the pilot. See the CAO definitions in Kaz's post on passenger definition.I was imagining Biggles rescuing Algy from the huns on the wing of his Camel!

Good on you Mirage for thinking and acting for the greater good in regards to your priceless memorabilia. I like many others I am sure would love to see your photos on display for all to learn and experience one day...

It seems the airlines are right onto this sort of thing in the current market... with the more widespread use of loyalty programs it would be very rare these days to find yourself in the queue for a free (or even economical) upgrade without at least a history and some status with that (or a competitor) airline.
-
So... Could you take a second person in a single seat aeroplane? Given that a "seat" can seat 2 people under some circumstances?
-
Jeez Kaz... I am not a Lawyer... So is that YES or NO or Maybe and untried in court?

I think we are getting to the root of the problem...

It was just a thought.. you can't see thoughts....

I think the CASA register is a completely different kettle of fish...
I will demonstrate...

Some posts on another thread got me thinking about good old simple Aussie aeroplanes... proper grass-roots bugs in your teeth flying...
-
Nice... They were factory produced for a while I believe...
These are the Jewels of Australian Ultralight Aviation...
But... we are WAAAAY off thread...

Smiling....Happy!!!
Nothing better in the world than hanging around aeroplanes and their pilots...
-
Hey flyerme... Just noticed you list a Bunyip on your aircraft list... wasn't that an early 95.10 we don't hear much about?
-
I can't see a problem with publishing the Rego, Type and status... But I still cringe at the fact that anyone can see a picture of an aeroplane and in 30 seconds know the registered owner and there whereabouts such as on the CASA website...In my view if the information is available on the website (or anywhere for that matter) then it must be up to date. My aircraft was re-registered last year but still appears on the deregistered list. I don't have an issue with the details being available, only the currency of the information.Pud -
Amazing how a small wheel at the back transforms the looks sooooo much... IMO this is a beautiful aeroplane, something I never would have said of the tri-gear.

I have always felt it is inappropriate to publish the details CASA's does in this day and age...
IMO the files should be removed and a greater emphasis placed up the role of CFI's in our training facilities... Perhaps in return for dropping fees and charges involved in the role (cost to CFI's personally) there could be an improved reporting system with all of the up to date info available to them only...
Basically all CFI's would then be in effect able to keep a track of all pilots and aircraft they come across and make sure they are legal... In effect a proper and widespread Operations Reporting sytem.

It is a tricky one... I guess the right as a member to have their say does need to be respected... but then again.
Surely there is a standard for this?

Robbos "Wings Over the Downs" Flood Relief Fun Fly
Toowoomba Aeromodellers Association (TAA) and Toowoomba Amateur Radio Model Aero Club (TARMAC) combined, will be holding a Fun Fly on 29 January 2012 starting from 8.30am, to raise money for Robbo's, Wings Over the Downs. Robbo has supported aeromodellers from everywhere for many years and his business premises was wiped out in the flood of 10 January 2011. We invite aero modellers to come along and fly and buy to help Robbo back onto his feet. For more information contact Luke 0438 446505 or Peter 0412 633549

New"What personnel Methusala? You mean the Ops Manager and Assistant?
Very little... very, very little."
Thanks for your input Winsor68, but if it took half of the hours that these persons put in and if we suppose that each position costs the organisation $100,000 pa then the cost is not "very little" at all! I think that this is one area where costs could be levied on a commercial cost recovery basis. My other point regarding the costs of the very high production standard of what is really an in house publication has not attracted any comment so far. Don
That is tiny IMO... Ra-Aus was created to be the operations centre for Ultralight flying?... The cost to membership should not be paying for most of this anyway. The Commercial flying schools would have to pay at least half of this cost in fees for the services the Ops Department should offer.
-
Again... IMO... and this adds weight... there is a problem with Operations. 3500 aircraft...10 000 members... 1x Ops Manager, 1xAsssistant and a few volunteers does not make an operations department. IMO. Not for the sort of commercial organization and aircraft being flown as Ultralights these days.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mtaviation/vertical-wing-airshow-airplane
"My name is Matt Tanner, and I am an airshow pilot. I have been flying since I was a teenager. I currently fly airshows with a plane called the Laser Z300. My team and I have designed a set of vertical wings for my airplane that will allow it to move through the air like no other aircraft has ever moved through the air before. It will be able to turn, loop, and maneuver in unprecedented ways. The vertical wings will fit onto my existing aerobatic aircraft. They each will be two part (top and bottom) wings that will fit through the normal (horizontal) wings. Future airshow fans will be able to watch something that no one has ever seen before because of these vertical wings. There is no other current aviation/airshow project that is as innovative, creative, and original as this project. I have a build team ready to make it happen, and now need the funding to build the full scale version of the wings."

I would like Ra-Aus to get back to basic Ultralight Aircraft... Perhaps you should ask this question on the SAAA site? They already offer many of the privileges... with a little tweaking and with the addition of the Restricted PPL it would fit.
