Stop the fuss, add a plus... err hang on...
No fuss Tublowplanter, just was a bit slow off the mark in refreshing the page... comment was intended about # posts back...
But this is the Never Ending Story, and it goes off on a tangent more often than not... aviation terms are becoming a thing of the past, AND Bigpete has disappeared

Whats the wor... NES coming to...?

No worrys Mazda, that's why I did it.Thanks for posting that Tomo! I've been interested in flying in there and wondered what it was like. You've said it is around 6km from town, I'm not a local - how far do you think it would be to the marina? I have a friend there and would love to drop in some time.I only guesstimated about 6klm to the shopping center of Cooloola Cove, Tin Can itself is about 4.5 klm (I think) from Cooloola Cove shopping center. I rode my push bike so I'm only guessing.
You can actually hear boats from the airstrip to the Nrt East, but I doubt you could get through that way!
Google Earth shows it quite well...

But If you want to go to the Mariner in Tin Can, this is the only strip close enough, the one near Rainbow is a lot further off.

..... really smelly stout trout....
Oh hang on what were we talking about?

182 is it? Yes it must of had a coat of paint I reckon, still had the new shine on it.Nice clean looking 182.............................................................

Perfect...Probably just the one day -
Cool! Will you go for just the day? If it works out...I'll let you know..haven't finalised anything yet, and Harthy is interested in coming as well. -
Nothin!WTF!! What were those idiots thinking?? -
Yeah I know! but!Landing is PPR though !

Yep, next door to Tin Can Bay, and a stone's throw from Rainbow Beach. The one near Rainbow beach I haven't been to yet. Apparently that one is in between Rainbow and Inskip point, was really wanting to check it out as well, but time got in the away.
I agree it's a beaut strip, was pleasantly surprised once I climbed over the gate and went for a walk. (self authorization you see!
) Figured If I'm allowed to land there, I can climb the gate too! ;)These were the aircraft there... a J400 and Cessna 182

I went and checked out Cooloola Cove Airpark the other day while over there. Not a bad strip at all, was impressed actually.
Nothing much in the way of facility's, only a little open shed with aircraft in it, a fixed tie down point, and an outdoor BBQ.
Not sure about water or power, but It didn't look like it.
About 6 Klms to the town center, but there is residence houses not far from the edge of the strip, so if it was me, I'd try an get a lift into town if need be, or taxi I guess. But if you had to walk that both ways, you'd probably prefer not to.
A few pictures I took on my phone to show what it's like.

Poor Tubz must be still a little tired.....

The thing is, if they had a 'flight plan' they'd be laughing, but the fact they aren't flying is the problem.... they need a 'submersible plan' because they are in a Sub (well as far as I can gather!!)
'Is it a VSR trip asked Darky'......?
'Nah', said Nobu.....

Who's there!!
Hey G'day AV8A! Welcome!
Great to hear you coming from behind the curtain again... 12hrs seems to be the pull out point in GA for a lot a people for some reason, musn't be enough enthusiasm hapn'en to keep you going.
But never mind about that now, you'll get all the support you could ask for here, with a bit of fun thrown in here an there, join in, have fun, and go flying.................:thumb_up:
LSA's are great fun, great running price, but are sadly only limited to two seats....
Tell you what, get a J230 do your RA training in it, enjoy it, then whack some seats in the back, slap on a VH letter or two and GA here you come.......
Hope you can get in the air ASAP!

Hey Stan, Thanks!Hi Tomo, Good to see your story in the latest R a mag i hope your dream of mission work comes true, One of the reasons I decided to get my ticket is a bit the same, our lutheran parish here covers a large area from Dalby to N T border north to taroom south to dirranbandi, with 3 Pastors but at the moment we only have one,as long as they can handle flying. cause i've been wanting to fly for a long time too, it's been great, takes the mind off of the dry weather. Have a good and safe new year, to you and your family. Cheers Stan:thumb_up:Interesting to hear about your goals as well, I hope it works out for you... there is something about helping others out that is very rewarding. I hope to fly for MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) sometime, somewhere...
Thanks,
Tom
