  1. For Microsoft XP use this little gadget Available here And on the right hand side I think it's the 11th one down, "image resizer". Click on that and down load it.

If you can't understand how to select more than one or more photo's to resize, just ask and I will run through it with you.

  4. Hey Country Kid, Turboplanner is right, I'd go to your flight school you propose to use, and even do a half hour TIF (Trial Instructional Flight). It will make heaps more sense to you when reading your books after doing that. Trust me!

If you're a country kid like me, you'd like the "Dyson-Holland" Training manuals, who knows your instructor may already be using them. Ask him what he uses, and 90% of the time they have them to sell to you.

Failing that, the ATC flight training student package is pretty good apparently available right Here at the Clearprop shop. I haven't used these, but others say they are good.

Then another practical one is "PPL Book" by Jim Davis, A very easy going book... probably doesn't cover all the nitty gritty to much, but is great to get your head around things.

    Hope that helps.

Ps. Just Google the book names for places to buy them...

  5. I'm just thinking aloud here, and Have never seen behind the instrument panel so wouldn't know, but what would the chances of the throttle moving some wires when you pull it in and out?? Assuming you have a panel throttle...

Just seems to much of a coincidence to happen sometime on take off (throttle in) and descent (throttle out) for anything else...

A bad earth that gets moved about will do what is happening, like you suggested.

    Just a thought i_dunno

  6. My J200 with D180 has no obvious issues with spikes, however when throttle is backed off for descent on a hot day tacho goes crazy station 5000rpm etc, occasionally I get a high oil temp spike in cruise tooUnsure whats causing it

Only happens on a hot day?

  7. If you're in a Jab with electric flaps that you can control variably, use just a dribble of flap.. just a flick of the switch, and you'll extent your glide performance... Quite noticeable when I was experimenting with it too! I was doing it in a 230 so not sure about the others, but it was quite effective.

A lot better than first stage of flap or non at all, the idea is you increase lift, but don't get any extra drag that lots of flap would come with.
