This case shows part of the Public Liability pattern.
Note that the half million dollar fine was imposed on the owner of the premises, not the tow truck driver.
Time line to date is five years.
This is just the penalty, so it's possible that on top of this will be the civil suit, which could be millions, and any criminal prosecution.
In aviation, this would equate to the owner or operator of an airfield, getting the penalty for a pilot incorrectly operating an airfield based aircraft at the airfield.

The Policy spells out who can do what and when.
Quite often the matter is taken out of your hands because of the contract terms.

I prefer the re-useable ones.

100 to 150 hp from 500 cc is not too hard these days (that's at sea level)Been thinking about the 100hp claimed power. Could have just been a theoretical figure if it achieved the same boost at sea level as it does at 30,000ft. -
I've driven 1 cylinder 100 hp engines, so that's no issue. They only needed a 3 hour life.

It was the reverse of looking at your roof and finding part of an aircraft had gone through it. What the most likely machine to send a piston 1000 ft into the air? There is something to this, but I dont get it.It is over my head Tubs. -
This is how the Squatters have always livedMy turn to cook tonight, and it was T-bone steaks on the barbie, grown here on the farm, and 4 fresh veg.-

I found a hole in the floor of a locker once, and on looking inside the locker found a Harley piston.

We know what you meant Nev (he gets them in doesn't he)The mice ended up knowing everything having digested all that knowledgeDazza it was Finelec. I had a tyre that ( unknown to me ) had some of it used and it went down on me ( Don't be rude) at high speed Ok while I was moving fast but difficult as you slowed down. I still think it's illegal. If you get stuck somewhere you can pack the tyre with dried grass, in an emergency. NevYou can also take the tyre off and run on the rim (I got this from watching "Cops".

It was a good watch. Very nice work on the engines.

Given that 15 kg of tools nearly too out one of our members this year, Clause 11 would be a good one to use for a 2 seater.

I dumped Firefox because of that problem, which seemed to happen at every upgrade, and took hours to fix.
Went to Google, but still get the odd problem.
Seems to be a fight between Microsoft and the others with MS seeming to create just enough compatibility problems to steer you back to their product. They're not counting on the long term rejection of doing that.

Did you like the segment where they tested the aircraft in the freezing wind tunnel to simulate the huge frozen winds they would be contending with during the flight, supposedly not realizing that an aircraft moves in the moving air mass and with a top speed of around 30 km/hr is going to have a lot less wind chill factor than a climber on the ground.......but Bear got his slight frostbite for the cameras.

Because there are Recreational Flying Builders, Mechanics, Painters, Pushers, Clubs, Lookers On, and even a well known Recreational Flying Bolt Supplier.....who has a Motor Bike (but we won't tell him of his mistake).

90 kg is a better average today; the correct weight for flight planning is the actual weight of the people.
-
A lot of spin for the cameras I think.

I see recreational flying as all non-commercial flying

I'm very disappointed in this thread.
For a start we haven't had the possum and snake stories........

The Mayor didn't exactly stick his neck out did he.

When you look at the appalling behaviour on all sides coming out of the Hempel story you make a very good point poteroo.
Introducing a change without an explanation where pilot after pilot is publicly scratching his head about the shortage of logic is almost inviting infringement.

Public Liability
in AUS/NZ General Discussion

I can think of a couple of examples straight off:
Taking off overweight
Taking off down wind
...and so on.....
I know the Coates operation and designed a number of trucks for them, and they never once objected to paying extra money for compliance, so this is generally a safe and conscientious Company.
What this decision seems to point to is the importance of not only having safety strategies and rules in place, but making sure they are publicised and policed.
