.....previous poster who mixed him up with Don Q, who is out there still, racing for the windmills and picking up the molls.
However the very well drawn sketch of the Chinese constructed wind turbines is very topical as Australia finds out that these ugly and noisy structures are NOT proliferating the landscapes because they are making money but because the likes of Kevin and Julia wanted a "sustainable" future and were prepared to put their hands in our pockets and spend our money to pay for it.
It seems that the companies involved have been buying the cheapest turbines from China, which makes the Chinese Government happy, enticing the landowners with a $10,000
per footprint payout, which makes the neighbours unhappy, mostly leaving the turbines idle, which doesn't worry anyone, selling the trickle of power to the grid, which doesn't make any difference, and collecting a handsome subsidy from us taxpayers, which makes them gazillionaires.
Turbo has to reluctantly admit, this leaves his Cat Farm for dead when it comes to.........

No, one of the dangers of a forum discussion where posts are expected to be just a few words, is someone will be addressing what someone else said, which might be 3% of the big picture, and someone else will take that post as applying to the whole 100% of the subject. So all the experienced pilots who ended their flying with a fatal accident, weren`t trained correctly?Frank.-

How would you be changing lanes while flying, or isn't a major crash since last weekend worth considering. You reckon you have access to real data about such events........really, how often is the guy changing lanes (legally but annoying), the actual root cause of the fatality? -
The questions you ask are reasonable FD, and there's no reason why the RAA couldn't by now have confirmed some of the facts, such as whether the student was on his fourth solo, or fourth solo nav, which makes a world of difference. It would seem there are people who are very fixed in what the see and hear.I am trying to look at the bigger picture and ask: WHY? and HOW? This happened. And what can be done to improve what is done for future times when things like this happen.
Although unique and individual opinions and actions play a part, I am not looking to judge anyone.
I am simply asking questions.
As it has/is turning into a slanging match, I am now Un - subscribing from this thread.

[in the interests of the families who see the NES as a haven of peace away from the open warfare of the general threads, Turbo wishes to advise that the above photo was simply Don Quixote being checked out by his family Doctor.
In fact the most significant part of the photo is that it shows what happens when Don Q hasn't had a shave for three or four days.]
".....shower drain worse than Turbo's daughter - and that's really saying something"
Regular and informed NES readers will know that often this story strays into the area of history, and has in the past brought to light some amazing facts, such as Turbo's clear photo of a snow leopard at Cardwell in Queensland, and parts of Rat's distasteful history.
Turbo had become increasingly interested in OMG's story on another thread about how someone had ratted (NTTIAWWT) his original 10-001 serial number plate,
and in trying to be helpful in solving this matter, Turbo journeyed up to the birthplace of Ultralights (not those stupid plastic thingys), which was only 2 hours 26 mins flying time in a Jab J160, and 1 hour 24 min in the Corvette, which Turbo chose to drive, only collecting 12 photo shots.
It was at Holbrook that an old Ultralight builder, sitting outside the Bakery (famous throughout the Riverina), told him that OMG was a BS artist, and the 10-001 plate not only belonged to Don Q, but that his Ultralight still existed, with a hole where the plate used to be.
Twenty minutes later, Turbo was out the back of the Museum, and snapped this photo of Donny's first building attempt. The old guy told Turbo it "had a terrible long takeoff run, but handled well." On the way out he managed to take a very quick snap of the monument to past Presidents, and then left for.................

In the meantime, we haven't made it to next weekend and there's one splattered all over the ground.

.......but there was a crash as the door to the NES opened and in rushed Don Quixote, almost beside himself with excitement.
"That's my Dad!"(Atheist thread ref) yelled Don, "I can tell by the sagging chest, oversize legs, and the look on his face!"
"And that's his party hat too!" he continued excitely
This stunned Ratso, who was always pouring sh!t on Turbo who was one of Australia's greatest philanthropists, and who...........

That's very surprising since this is a VH aircraft, and ATSB would normally want to protect the scene, unless they have decided not to investigate. He is stable. But a real mess. I was not with him when in happened as I was home waiting his arrival.i was at the scene within 15 mins... No need to speculate ... Engine failure and Come in very fast over a fresh ploughed Rocky paddock the plane flipped on touch down .. It nice to be told by police you need to move the wreckage emediatly so his son, his wife and I were left to remove it..... Oh and the media.... Stop calling my house and using pics of me and my nieuport. It WAS A TIGER MOTH.-

The good legislation addresses bad habits and bad behaviour, and educates, just like we do in controlled environments, and it has worked well over the last dour decades where the legislation is a result of sound research. RBT is a good example which has saved thousands of lives.Well said.If you need someone to make legislation to stop you from killing yourself, then maybe society should just let go. I mean, really, if you need to be told to try harder not to kill yourself, what gains are there?
Agree totally, along with double points and the Police inspector telling us we behaved badly. In Victoria we have a monster in the TAC which spends millions of dollars every year, either without research, on on a basis I certainly can't relate to, egA good example is that ridiculous "Fatality Free Friday", in all seriousness, what imbecile believes that you should make just that bit more effort not to kill yourself on THAT Friday. Who got paid to come up with that crap?TV ad showing a girl with her head down concentrating on changing music followed by a crash - classic inattention, but the tag line was "Speed Kills"
And I bet you don't drive/fly along saying "I must be careful, I must be careful" Safe operation usually comes from valid training, good attitude and attention to the task in stead of that.Yes, I am well aware that I could easily be that dead idiot at the other end of that pointing finger, if I'm not careful.-

I agree about the confusion, although mine was on a tractor. Nothing works the same with reverse gravity; it's amazing how much you rely on your bum against the seat back in order to push your legs, and push up with your arms when you're upright. That all goes when you're belly up and you have to think your way out. When you go upside-down, the disorientation confuses you for a short while but I found I couldn't actually release my seatbelt in the J230 until I relieved the pressure by pushing with my legs. It took me about a minute to sort out up from down and which way to push, I'm very glad that there was no fire!I'm very strong on pre-programming your mind for expected emergencies so your reaction is automatic, but these upside down events all seem to be different.

There are plenty of precedents; most no longer valid in today's legislation.
