  1. I'm going. Flew in from interstate and camped next to my Zodiac last time and will again. I appreciated the relaxed collegial vibe and vendors. No-one requested, required or checking ASICs. I didn't have one at the time anyway. The ARO's just kept GA away from the RPT parking/terminal airside area. Marshalling of us flyers was plentiful, clear and competent. The RAAus safety & ops team and volunteers were well rehearsed. Thanks RAAus.
  2. Apparently soon. Lots of trikes, hang glider and drone pilots use Android phones and they want to run the free version of AvTraffic so they can see each other and GA pilots can see where they are. https://avtraffic.com/faq.html
  3. I’m an AvTraffic pilot - met Andy (72) the original founder from Southport QLD. He’s taken on feedback from CASA, RAAus and pilots round the world to improve it over the years. Responds promptly to questions I put on the website. The local ultralights and gliders near me are using the free version to see each other and GA. I pay the 3 bucks a month for the Bluetooth audio TCAS warnings and EFB map integration. AvTraffic -App Store AvTraffic Website
  4. Called Sgesco today and they no longer have a VDO instrument repair shop - just sales. Two alternatives repair shops I've found are: Howard Instruments - Melbourne Lionel Otto Instruments - Brisbane Roger at Howard was familiar with the intermittent LCD display issue and has quoted $200 + tax to repair
  5. Refer Page 70 of RAAus Australian SportPilot mag which arrived in the post today.
  6. If I can do it (IFR) you certainly can Mike. also was my first OSH this year. Bucket list ticked. Blown away by the magnitude and camaraderie. Hope to be an annual pilgrim. Best wishes NME
  7. 9 News - Plane flips at French Island RV9A from Koo Wee Rup. Sad to hear. Glad pilot and passenger are OK.
  8. I'll miss Terry. One of RAAs finest instructors and retired Ansett check captain. http://www.flypenfield.com.au/aircraft/ http://www.pprune.org/pacific-general-aviation-questions/577334-aircraft-down-lancefield-vic.html RIP mate.
