skippydiesel Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Fast approaching my next Rotax 912 ULS service & starting to think about consumables. I have my oil filter & copper washers but will need some oil. Aeroshell Sport Plus4 is my 912's tipple of choice. Just had a quick check of Australian suppliers - a 12L box will set me back around the $30/L. +/-.Delivered. There are some suppliers advertising at a lot less BUT when you enter their web site, they are either out of stock or only quote on application (so no idea of actual cost +/-GST or delivery ). $40/12L carton delivery seems to be in the ball park, for most of the upfront advertisers. Just wondering what your resent purchasing cost may have been?? 😈
facthunter Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago AI will give you the Latest Prices. Aircraft Spruce seem the cheapest 12 Litre carton. Nev
Thruster88 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago It seems an availability issue has made everyone buy up stock creating a shortage and increase in price. Toilet paper 101. 1 1

BrendAn Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago (edited) i should have said it's the correct spec for jabiru. rotax is sport 4, is there a difference. i used to buy aeroshell 100 for my other jabiru but now they sell me total. Edited 13 hours ago by BrendAn 1 1

Conti/Lycoming oils are very different to Rotax oils. People used to use the semi-syn motorcycle oils for Rotax before so probably still a good choice. 2 1 1
facthunter Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago ALL aviation oils are supposed to be compatible but the Rotax oils are specific to Rotax because of the gearbox and clutch requirements. Nev
skippydiesel Posted 12 hours ago Author Posted 12 hours ago So far, it would seem no respondent has current experince of purchasing Aeroshell Sport Plus 4. Hoping that an informed respondent, will tell of their supplier & costed experince??????? 😈

skippydiesel Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago Thanks BrendAn - I wasn't looking for oil (alternative) recommendations. I have access to all the Rotax Service Instructions. My preference is to stay with Aeroshell Sport Plus 4 BUT have not purchased any for about 3 years, so was hoping for a Forum member to relate their resent purchasing experince . My so far limited research, has for the first time come up against sellers who will only quot after registering with them. Dont know what their game is but it is annoying. 😈

The item number 08-07048 corresponds to the 1 Litre of Aeroshell Sport Plus 4 pricing - I purchase a 12L carton for a lower price ,currently $28.23/L from A Spruce before delivery cost which can add significantly to per litre cost. So far; Horsham $371 Viva $245?? Atom$267?? Simorg $308 CJ Aerospace$?? ?? Vendor requires signing up to get a confirmed price. No delivery costs added but assume GST included. 😈
