I bought it - though I have the 2000 version on CD as well - because I have a "new" machine.

So?

I have a heap of "Go Flight" stuff and am curious  how to get them working on the latest version.

Way back in 2000, I also bought a little "plug-in" I think it was FSUIPC which is a program that allowed me to translate the GoFlight stuff to work on different planes.

Someone/anyone?

Skippy,

I seem to have lost your reply.

Sorry.

I saw your name pop up with a reply but when I went to try and see it:  gone.

(Or did I not?)

I got a few notifications and they confused me.

But I am sure I did see a reply from you.

I have a $hit load of hardware with it.

I've actually built a semi cockpit for it.

Front panel for the FIP and MCP and side panel for the radio, knobs, etc.

And throttles.

Just finished doing some tests.  (USB stuff)

I have - there about:

Saitek FFB stick.

Pedals.  Cheap ones - as in they are plastic.  I think CH brand.  They work.   Breaks, rudder.

Ch HOTAS for single engine stuff.

(And now it begins)
4 - Saitek FID

Go-Flight items:

1 - MCP

1 - TQ6

1 - ATC

2 - Radio panels

? - button bar (8 buttons)

? - switch bar  (8 switches)

1 - 4 * knob and 8 * button bar

There are powered USB hubs to concentrate some of the devices nto 1 cable back to the PC

There is also a switched USB hug so I can turn off groups of devices if not needed.

The FIP and MCU are on the same HUB - well, not completely.   😞

I have a digitek 10 port powered HUB.   If I put the 5 devices into it, 1 or 2of the FIP don't initialise on boot.

Tomorrow I will run FS for the first time and hope it gets it stuff together and I an then start testing/assigning the controls to the planes.

Oh, machine specs:
MSI Tomahawk 550

32 G ram

3.3 gig processor. AMD

1070 turbo GFX card.

(I think.)

21 x 9 monitor. (Curved)

Bought in 2020 for a lot of money.

Still does good.   Not prefect, but it holds its own for what I do with it.

Annoying news on a few fronts:

1 - it is FS2020.  Not 2024.  Oh well.

2 - I have 100GB free on the 😄 drive.  NOT ENOUGH ROOM!

3 - My firewall gives me grief and I have XBOX and a lot of MS sites blocked.

I am flattered (I think) that you fantasise about my presence on this thread.

Truth is, in my ignorance, I neither popped or entered - not knowing what a MSFS (2024) person is or looks like.

That was until Rodgerc enlightened me.

Family myth, has it that my parents went down this track, I on the other hand had to expend much time, & hard earned cash, to win over my bride.😈

I apologise.

It was your response that I missed.

I got a notification and didn't read it.  Just saw your name and this thread.

But when I got "here" didn't see a "reply" - forgetting the laugh.

So I asked.    Mia culpa.

BrendAn,

I have FS 2020.   Alas 2024 is not going to be got soon.

I think it is beyond the  specs of the machine.

WRT the space problem.

Alas another SSD HD is the only way I can think of to get around the problem.

understandable.  i would like to purchase a desktop setup with the specs in the video and have it dedicated to flight sim. not in the budget at the moment though.

Well I spent serious 4 digit money on what I have.

Getting a 40x0 type gfx card just now.... Would probably mean a new MoBo too.

Though I won't begrudge myself stuff - hey, at my stage: life is for living.

All the other crap which I am seeing I need - privacy problems IMO - with M$ "tracking" me...  No thanks.

Not just now.
