Another highway hard landing in the US

A plane has made a hard landing on a highway in Arizona, caught on a dashcam in a vehicle that was lucky to escape.

A Valley family’s Mother’s Day drive home turned into a terrifying near miss when a small plane landed on US 60 right in front of them.

Must have been a UK/Australian pilot, landing against the traffic flow (right instead of left)😈

It does seem odd that the pilot didn't alter the flight path to land on the other side of the highway, where the traffic was going the same way - and where the lanes were virtually empty.

 

Note how the roadside signs will get you every time you choose a road to land on!

In defence of the pilot, to me it appears that they only just made the highway with very little energy and not aligned with the highway. There was simply not enough energy to get it aligned and it was stalled on in the pilots last ditch effort to get it aligned.

easy for a keyboard pilot to say.  you don't know what was going on in the cockpit.
