Are any forum members attending the Rotax Heavy Maintenance course on 19 to 21 January 2025 being held at Bert Floods?

Just bumping question, are any forum members attending this course?  

 

The date should have read 2026 (My bad)  19 to 21 January 2026.

Yours is the first mention, I recall, of this course -  Not your fault but a tad late in the day as course starts tomorrow.

 

Where & when was it advertised?😈

I'd love to do the course but it takes me a while to get there and I didn't see it. I think I was away about then not that I'd have got there anyway. I'm too tied up with mining related things right now. Gold is almost on $7000 an ounce so it's all go around here.

 

Mrs M got a bit carried away too. She's decided we need a little more security.

 

 

This little beauty from the late 19th century weighs in at somewhere over two tonnes.

 

 

She's always worried that someone might escape with the current one, it only weighs about 700kg. I'd love to fly out and pick it up but when I did the W&B it looks like I might need to reevaluate my transport options.

Another in Feb, I just took first one incase next was cancelled and also peak of cyclone season so flights in and out get cancelled. Heavy is $1800 (not sure how many grams😏) ‘is’ engines one day $600. Also a line maintenance two day I think at $1200.  I’ve been trying to do it since before Covid. Unable to make the last April one that was the min, Tuesday, Wed after Avalon Air show.  Looks like you need armed security for the contents of the safe. Find heaps, Cheers

Do Floods have a webpage were they put up course dates, contents and cost ?

I went off you try to find some Bert Flood info.

 

They have a website but this forwards to FlyRotax that has only very general information.

They have a Facebook page which appears to have not been updated since 2019.

Eventually found some current posts on Linkedin but again without any detailed information - https://www.linkedin.com/company/bert-flood-imports/posts/?feedView=all

 

Wierd - a business selling a not cheap product that appears to have no interest in selling itself.

I haven't done any business with Floods for about 18 months and before that 24.

It may have been my imagination, I got the distinct impression , by the second visit, that moral had dropped. No idea why😈

We have put a lot of time into redeveloping this program so we can offer a higher level of training then was previously available. 

Below is the schedule we have coming up:

Session Two

Line Maintenance: Tuesday 27th - Thursday 29th of January, 2026 Cost: $1800 Per Person (Including GST)

Heavy Maintenance: Friday 30th - Saturday 31st of January 2026 & Monday 2nd February Cost: $1800 Per Person (Including GST)

iS Technology & Gearboxes: Tuesday 3nd January 2026 Cost: $600 Per Person (Including GST)

I have also attached a brochure which will give you more information on each course.

Please let me know which sessions would suit you or if you would like any more information on the programs.

If these sessions are to soon, we will be announcing more dates for upcoming sessions in March/ April shortly with more courses to come during the year
