  1. hate mosquitos, love elephants. Give us an excuse not to worry about it by letting us know the state of the nation in simple terms that even I can understand...
  2. Removal of a benefit with no reduction in paid fees becomes a price increase by stealth. My membership included the magazine, so what has changed financially to alter this. Take away the magazine, give me the money back or call it for what it is, a fee increase by stealth...
  3. Until you get your cross country endo in Oz, (Nav) you are limited to 25 nautical Miles from your aircrafts home base. After Cross country endo, the skies..(lol) the limit.
  4. Fees go up, bureaucracy increases, no Natfly yet our AGM is not at the head office and the board wont be there, why bother.
  5. Instead of pedalling your political wheelbarrows which are all self interest garbage anyway, how about we GET BACK ON TOPIC. We are discussing wind farms and their effect on aviation, not the government subsidy of farmers, miners or any elses underpants whatever. STICK TO THE TOPIC or open a new one.
  6. i follow the us ultralight forum and have fiund it very useful and containing great posts. i hope you find the same here. most members, i feel, would be interested in cross pollinating with other overseas bretheren.
  7. It appears that those that can, do; and those that cant, join CASA. Why do we appear to be being victimised by an Ungerman/Stit fued.
  8. You may not have many windfarms but here on the southern Tablelands we have a number totalling over 300 windmills in a small area. Great to fly around.
  9. Morgan single seater followed by the Onex. Also love the Xair I fly.
  10. The site is slick and handy, if you know where to look. A first time user may bypass the site because they have to search to get to the bones, i.e the forum. Not that intuitive. Otherwise no probs.
  11. Might pay to make the forum button easier to get to for visitors to the site. Takes some finding and it is the core of the site. m Just my 2c worth.
  12. I trained in a school that did both with an instructor that did both, the difference is in the aircraft hire, not the hourly instructor rate.
  13. Maybe the time is approaching for a seperate organisation for the lighter and slower end of the RAA aus fraternity. I fly rag and tube (19 reg), slow cruise and am becoming more and more frustrated with the GA wannabe's (cost based I am sure) in RAA Aus. Unfortunately our organisation seems to be leaning towards this end of the market, and it is understandable given that most of the RAA reg aircraft are now in the faster, mini GA catagory. I also am concerned that the 95 10 and the slower end of the market are going to be left behind and managed and regulated the same as the faster aircraft. It would be a shame to be over regulated when some of us just want to get into the air and fly for the sheer enjoyment of it. We dont want a fast taxi, a mini intercity rocket or a 172 lookalike. The organisation has to be mindful of its roots and the fact that there are some of us out there that do not want to move into the 22nd century. Leave us alone to enjoy what we do, and statistically do safely.
  14. nope, very little side clearance, too hot, too uncomfortable and restrict vision. Just sayin.
  15. Jeez Jim, doom and gloom, pessimism and failure. Must be a fun time when you are reading the paper? Why are you so down on RAA Aus, we need optimism and help not naysayers and pessimists. I was always told that if there is a problem, dont present it alone, present it with an answer and at least we have a direction to look in........do you have a solution or at least a positive direction to follow?
  16. I am interested in 4 of these plugs to try in my 582.

Heres another one of your baby for you Sunny. Taken at the oaks a couple of years ago
  18. I cant help it if sarcastic and thick people misinterpret what is written.
  19. Given the greed of many private enterprise organisations, would we be better off financially under such an agreement?
  20. I understand that, I was just checking the website that everyone says is the portal for those not on this site and found it sadly wanting.
  21. I dont fly Jabs, I pay my fees like everyone else, dont be so bl..dy patronising You mean the whole office is tied up with this thing, I dont think so (or I hope not). What has the web page got to do with flying schools?
  22. Just had a good look at the members section of the website (RAA). Looks like someone forgot to update it for a while. I thought this was the main communications area for members on the website. Given all this money we are saving by cutting member services, I thought they may have at least fixed this problem. Just sayin...
  23. Get an RPL and register your 19 aircraft GA experimental. So much for increase3d fees. If we were getting value for money then ok but all of a sudden we get fee rises, magazine cuts, Natfly taken off the board for the time being....The question is where is the money going after many years of running even and providing member services. Is the push for all the GA wannabe extras, LSA causing this in part. May be time to consider another organisation that actually recognises the core principles of RECREATIONAL and Ultralight flying as it was originally defined before the lawyers and vested interests got hold of it. Maybe the moneyed end of town can go their own way and let us wage earners and pensioners do our thing without the expensive crap. Just sayin......
  24. get fit, walk. My instructor told me that when doing x country's, carry a credit card and $100. If its raining you can get a taxi.
  25. I thought there was already an organisation that looked after all the stuff heavier than 600kg. Its called CASA. I also believe there is an organisation that looks after less than 600kg called RAA Aus. Why do we need cross polination and duplicate organisations. If we really need another organisation then maybe its time for an organisation that handles purely recreational pilots flying light aircraft that dont want to fly at night, need to carry only one other passenger or dont want to fly into main airports and compete with 747's and 737's. I wonder if they will also help those that just want to fly for fun without all the Bulldust. (sorry I couldn't resist.)
