  2. Luke Metcalf flying this in true scale style. Lightning by name and he flies it like Lightning. I had trouble keeping up. Full after burners and tight turns. TERRIFIC ! Span: 176 cm Length: 284 cm Engine: B300F turbine (320N thrust) Built by Paul from the Airworld Modellbau kit. 9 litres of fuel onboard in two 4.5 litre tanks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzwfKj-0htQ
  3. The yellow Waco built and flown by Greg was built from a Barth kit (Germany) and the other Waco was built from an American AMR kit at the same scale. They weigh 23kg and the 29kg respectively and both are powered by Blackstar 250cc 5 cylinder 4 stroke radials from Tomahawk Aviation throwing 32x16 propellors. Both Wacos use Futaba radio with Powerbox sbus systems for guidance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDtd_ZIbq4k

  4. Formation RC flying doesn't get any better than this. Onboard action captured with the Insta360 ONE X2 action camera. Azza and Sonny on the sticks controlling these 60% scale clipped wing Cubs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ytr8EU2V6dY

  5. With our new Arduino based head tracker the FPV experience is complete. Just brilliant flying experience and the head tracking enables me to concentrate 100% on the flying and not panning/tilting the camera with other controls. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zbpc7O46bIU
  6. After a successful maiden flight in strong winds I was confident about flying the Frobisher again in kinder weather. The first flight of the day went really well although did show the difficult ground handling characteristics. The second flight ended in disaster. Powered up after pointing into wind but even with rudder the Frobisher yawed around almost into down wind direction. I should have abandoned the take off run but foolishly continued and once in the air it stalled. I corrected but it immediately tip stall over the other way and crashed. A sad end to a beautiful model but hey...it's just a hobby ! Sharing this experience so that others might learn from my mistake. To err is human and I think the most important thing is to understand why it happened and try not to do it again. I should have abandoned the take off and waited for the wind to reduce. Simple. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfII-MjPdGU
  7. Built by master aero-modeller Chris Golds over 20 years ago and in storage ever since. He was also a jet pilot of various full size aircraft including the English Electric Lightning and an accomplished aviation artist. He's enjoying retirement now so hoping he gets to see this vid of his creation flying again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPPHsFdS27s

  8. At that event we were cleared to 1500 feet
  9. Not very often we see a scale jet built from a plan so always a joy to film such a model when I do get a chance. This Sea Vixen was built by Dave Batchelor from a Kerry Sterner design. Built over 2 years and flown expertly here by Dave Wilshere of Motors & Rotors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkqWwXS5_SY

  11. Huge side profile on this aircraft means it barely needs any rudder input in knife edge. Powered by a Hacker Q30 on 10S. Not something I had seen before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVzfdgHbS_A

  13. After a line of sight flight to test my newly assembled RV8 it was time to fly it FPV for the first time.
  14. Not a concept I could have dreamt up...but when it flies it soars and glides beautifully.

  17. Created by master RC designer and builder Dietmar Metz. This is the finished Star Wars Tri-Jet being demonstrated at a trade show in Germany. Quite amazing degree of control for an electric ducted fan jet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFAsKHV5MLI

  19. RC jet of 2021. This thing is a beast. You would need around £25K GBP to own one. Specification: Length: 149.6" (3800mm) with the probe Wingspan: 96.7" (2457mm) Power: 2 x 16-20kg thrust Dry Weight: 26-29 kg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Jd2qm5TWH4
  20. These awesome RC A-10 Tank Busters are powered by micro gas turbine jet engines which give more than enough power for realistic vertical performance and speed on low passes. The black/white camo kit is made by Skymaster Jets and the all grey version is made by Mibo. Both leading manufacturers in the radio control jets of many different types. These models were flown by Steve and Mick, both regular UK RC Show pilots. The Skymaster A-10 is 1:6.25 scale with length 2552 mm (101.3”) and wingspan 2784mm (109.6”). Dry weight is 20kg to 22kg (45-48Lbs) and the model needs 13-15 servos. Mick's Mibo A-10 is a generation 6 kit has electric retracts and brakes is 3m span and weighs 54lbs dry 66 at take off. The model is powered by two Kingtech 160G series2 turbines giving a total of 78lbs thrust from 7Ltrs of fuel which it burns in 8mins. The decelerons (the name for the split ailerons) were my own modification so in that respect the example is unique. His A10 is modelled on the USAF air show demonstration aircraft which flies a known demo schedule an example of which can be found on YouTube "A10 RIAT 2011" so carries no armament or Penny Pod. The model is guided by Jeti DS24 radio uses a Centrebox 400 power distribution and 2 three cell LiPos it also runs 15 servos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w53tIIedsL0
  21. This seriously large P-47 was flown at the Wings and Wheels RC Model Spectacular by John Mason of TJD Models. It has wingspan of 122 inches, the weight is around 70 lbs and the model is powered by a DLE-170. Other engine options for this giant are the DA-200, DLE-222, MOKI 250 and 300. Plan available at http://www.meister-scale.com/Thunderbolt25/index.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErEbrmYUn5g

  22. I've flown a few 'ornithopters' and this is by far the best flying I have tried out. Super simple to assemble as well. Hours of fun for the pilot and local wild life.
  23. Robbie Skipton displaying his 55% Ultimate and during the display he pushes out of an inverted pass and touches the rudder on the deck ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1boapL-o5dw
