  1. Huge side profile on this aircraft means it barely needs any rudder input in knife edge. Powered by a Hacker Q30 on 10S. Not something I had seen before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVzfdgHbS_A

  3. After a line of sight flight to test my newly assembled RV8 it was time to fly it FPV for the first time.
  4. Not a concept I could have dreamt up...but when it flies it soars and glides beautifully.

  6. Our friend George (4-max.co.uk) flies his restored Chris Golds de Havilland Express for the first time. Some tinkering to do but a successful first flight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJBbCcBbJGk

  7. Created by master RC designer and builder Dietmar Metz. This is the finished Star Wars Tri-Jet being demonstrated at a trade show in Germany. Quite amazing degree of control for an electric ducted fan jet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFAsKHV5MLI
  8. No but we do insure against damage to 3rd party persons and property.
  9. RC jet of 2021. This thing is a beast. You would need around £25K GBP to own one. Specification: Length: 149.6" (3800mm) with the probe Wingspan: 96.7" (2457mm) Power: 2 x 16-20kg thrust Dry Weight: 26-29 kg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Jd2qm5TWH4
  10. These awesome RC A-10 Tank Busters are powered by micro gas turbine jet engines which give more than enough power for realistic vertical performance and speed on low passes. The black/white camo kit is made by Skymaster Jets and the all grey version is made by Mibo. Both leading manufacturers in the radio control jets of many different types. These models were flown by Steve and Mick, both regular UK RC Show pilots. The Skymaster A-10 is 1:6.25 scale with length 2552 mm (101.3”) and wingspan 2784mm (109.6”). Dry weight is 20kg to 22kg (45-48Lbs) and the model needs 13-15 servos. Mick's Mibo A-10 is a generation 6 kit has electric retracts and brakes is 3m span and weighs 54lbs dry 66 at take off. The model is powered by two Kingtech 160G series2 turbines giving a total of 78lbs thrust from 7Ltrs of fuel which it burns in 8mins. The decelerons (the name for the split ailerons) were my own modification so in that respect the example is unique. His A10 is modelled on the USAF air show demonstration aircraft which flies a known demo schedule an example of which can be found on YouTube "A10 RIAT 2011" so carries no armament or Penny Pod. The model is guided by Jeti DS24 radio uses a Centrebox 400 power distribution and 2 three cell LiPos it also runs 15 servos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w53tIIedsL0
  11. This seriously large P-47 was flown at the Wings and Wheels RC Model Spectacular by John Mason of TJD Models. It has wingspan of 122 inches, the weight is around 70 lbs and the model is powered by a DLE-170. Other engine options for this giant are the DA-200, DLE-222, MOKI 250 and 300. Plan available at http://www.meister-scale.com/Thunderbolt25/index.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErEbrmYUn5g

  12. I've flown a few 'ornithopters' and this is by far the best flying I have tried out. Super simple to assemble as well. Hours of fun for the pilot and local wild life.
  13. Robbie Skipton displaying his 55% Ultimate and during the display he pushes out of an inverted pass and touches the rudder on the deck ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1boapL-o5dw

  14. So easy to install this engine. Bolt to the ply rails and then with one electronic cable and one fuel line it was minutes to get it all hooked up and ready for it's first start. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ipYXRBmtEg

  15. These guys have been practicing their formation flying for a long time. That's how they got so good at this. They are flying Bill Hempel Clipped Wing Cubs. These radio controlled aircraft have a wing span of 18 feet (216 inches) and are designed for the 3W-275cc engine but Azza and Sonny used the ZDZ 420B4-J. The weight is approximately 94-96 pounds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOpWloE-JxA

  19. Walking around the Southampton International Boat Show after filming some large RC powerboats in action and I stumbled across the trade stand for Swellpro. A manufacturer of multirotor aircraft/drone for the marine industry. Didn't know waterproof drones existed! They can take off and land on water and survive full immersion. Makes them suitable for many more applications that your typical drone. Dan of Swellpro UK gave me a quick intro.
  20. Each built from scratch and flown in close formation without any fear. These are skilled builders and pilots putting on a great show for the public.

  21. Totally different kettle of fish and I think us RC 'pilots' know that...
  22. Robbie Skipton doesn't just fly these monster radio controlled aircraft, he also designs and builds them from scratch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0igCSG_jcY
  23. I've seen similar RC aircraft suffer worse abuse. Pylon racers, dynamic soarers, and some other turbine powered aircraft. The skill is in the design and construction of these things for me.
  24. Not often you see something fresh and innovative. This is the NEW Jeemo. A performance glider with a 45N jet turbine engine INSIDE the fuselage. No wonder it's so quick and agile. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDBexxuQsyc
  25. So clever. Combines the ease of flying a drone with the efficiency of flight. Vertical take off and landing with one button used to transition to regular flight and back to hover again. No moving control surfaces. Roll and yaw achieved through differential thrust. Integrated FPV with real time view streamed to the controller. Strangest but coolest looking thing I have flown in a while !
