  1. Bad cross wind on that day and we get turbulence off the top of the trees at that location. I was focussing on reading the telemetry more than smooth flying most of the time. Some improvements still to make. Not sure why distance to home wasn't showing in the telemetry. I will look into that. And because I'm using a flight controller I will on future flights take advantage of the gyro stabilisation.
  2. I wouldn't have thought long flight times were possible with an EDF jet. Seems I was wrong! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrIq7ZYHqGw
  3. At only $65 for the ELRS version it's a great option for anyone joining the hobby... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqOkHOK4tBw

  5. Beautiful and skilful aero-modelling. Despite being light this tiny electric ducted fan model is still quite quick and obviously challenging to fly in this sports hall. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gGjLFpPvPI

  7. Fantastic little Super Decathlon that goes together very quickly in 20 minutes due to the design and completeness of the kit. I set mine up on my Radiomaster TX16S transmitter and a Spektrum receiver. First flight I was doing all the aerobatic moves I could think of ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8I4oCi-e8k
  8. I have flown so many foamies recently I'd forgotten how good a balsa model could actually be. OMP obviously take pride in the quality of their product. Arrives in an almost bullet proof container to protect it from any knocks during shipping and you can understand that when you see how light the components are. Takes just a few minutes to assemble the PNP version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yncjEx0124U
  9. A demonstration of great skill by this pilot when the engine on his Spitfire quits and he has to execute a down wind landing to stand any chance of getting it home safely https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mSM-DPeXnE

  10. Something different ! Cartoon interpretation of an F-14 Tomcat. Goes together easily but has a couple of issues which caused a take off failure on the 1st attempt. 2nd attempt good though and looked awesome in the air ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cns6TsEE0_c

  11. Steve Holland flies his exceptional scratch built scale replica of the DH.88 Comet G-ACSS 'Grosvenor House' that won the famous 1934 England-Australia MacRobertson Air Race from the United Kingdom to Australia. This model is powered by 2 Zenoah 74s. and in total it cost Steve £5000 in materials to build it. Wingspan: 22 ft Length: 14 ft 6in Height: 5 ft Engines: two Zenoah Z74 twins with trumpets. Each has a 1 1/2 litre tank. Props: Menz 26×8 turning at 6300rpm. Weight: 150 lb https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whWvKcJzTRg

  13. Luke Metcalf flying this in true scale style. Lightning by name and he flies it like Lightning. I had trouble keeping up. Full after burners and tight turns. TERRIFIC ! Span: 176 cm Length: 284 cm Engine: B300F turbine (320N thrust) Built by Paul from the Airworld Modellbau kit. 9 litres of fuel onboard in two 4.5 litre tanks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzwfKj-0htQ
  14. The yellow Waco built and flown by Greg was built from a Barth kit (Germany) and the other Waco was built from an American AMR kit at the same scale. They weigh 23kg and the 29kg respectively and both are powered by Blackstar 250cc 5 cylinder 4 stroke radials from Tomahawk Aviation throwing 32x16 propellors. Both Wacos use Futaba radio with Powerbox sbus systems for guidance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDtd_ZIbq4k

  16. With our new Arduino based head tracker the FPV experience is complete. Just brilliant flying experience and the head tracking enables me to concentrate 100% on the flying and not panning/tilting the camera with other controls. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zbpc7O46bIU
  17. After a successful maiden flight in strong winds I was confident about flying the Frobisher again in kinder weather. The first flight of the day went really well although did show the difficult ground handling characteristics. The second flight ended in disaster. Powered up after pointing into wind but even with rudder the Frobisher yawed around almost into down wind direction. I should have abandoned the take off run but foolishly continued and once in the air it stalled. I corrected but it immediately tip stall over the other way and crashed. A sad end to a beautiful model but hey...it's just a hobby ! Sharing this experience so that others might learn from my mistake. To err is human and I think the most important thing is to understand why it happened and try not to do it again. I should have abandoned the take off and waited for the wind to reduce. Simple. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfII-MjPdGU
  18. Built by master aero-modeller Chris Golds over 20 years ago and in storage ever since. He was also a jet pilot of various full size aircraft including the English Electric Lightning and an accomplished aviation artist. He's enjoying retirement now so hoping he gets to see this vid of his creation flying again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPPHsFdS27s

  20. Not very often we see a scale jet built from a plan so always a joy to film such a model when I do get a chance. This Sea Vixen was built by Dave Batchelor from a Kerry Sterner design. Built over 2 years and flown expertly here by Dave Wilshere of Motors & Rotors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkqWwXS5_SY
