  1. Well, what a show, on and off the field:oh yeah: Here's me just thinking about the poor copper tripping over right in front of the camera:busted: Those kiwis sure know how to enjoy a day at the beach:roflmao:
  2. Very informative, thanks, but sure that LOP only applies if you have manual mixture control. Rotax and Jab are at the mercy of bing.
  3. I think its just great on behalf of the ATSB to release this information so soon. If I was immediate family I would appreciate this type of information, it removes a lot of conjecture.
  4. Now why would someone think that this is funny???

    Fuel efficiency

I do have EGT and CHT on all cyls. Cht's sit around 140ish and egt's when in cruise 680 to 700ish.Egt's drop down above 2800 rpm. I too think fuel burn is too low but the numbers seem ok?

    Fuel efficiency

What sort of fuel burn figures are you getting with a 3300? I am pleasantly surprised to be getting 16lph at 2800 with the bing carb, engine serial 1928. I have a sensenich ground adjustable prop and am cruising at 110kts. Anyone else......?
  7. If you can smell gas in the cockpit then you could be in a flying bomb, just waiting for that spark to set it off. If so many jabs have the problem, Jabiru must identify the source and make available a permanent fix. Don't wait until too late.........
  8. Champion job! Building is fun, but flying your creation beats all..........
  9. Problem really is that aircraft are crashing and killing pilots and passengers. Rescue personnel have to clean up the mess. Association's belong on the bowl's club rinks. Fact is pilots/owners have to step up to the mark and educate themselves on there particular aircraft. No doubt the vast majority do, but the flip side of the coin says that lots can do with more education on maintenance requirements on there planes, as already admitted by some so far. Times are changing, and fast, best be proactive and get in front of the curve-ball.....
  10. All HR, Safety scenarios, industry wide, must reduce its membership down to the lowest common denominator, train for that and hope for the best..........
  11. A chopper I believe.......?
  12. If you do "cough up" for an iPad, also consider an oxygen mask and a fire extinguisher as essential:augie: http://www.news.com.au/technology/gadgets/vodafone-store-evacuated-after-ipad-explodes/story-fn6vigfp-1226755945189

  18. From what I can remember, the 47kts stall speed was at max gross weight, reduce that weight a bit and stall speed drops below 45kts, can't remember the actual weight tho......
  19. What sort of Zodiac, if I may ask?
  20. You aren't wrong there Maj, even if the ipad is just for the plane the cost is minimal compared to other options. Just wish ozrunways could be used on android or windoze tablets as well.
  21. Pretty sure that if you want to use aviation maps and a flight planner combined on a win pc you will have to go for Airnav Vfr, sentient software I believe. There digital maps come from airservices and under licence. You can plan on a wac, vtc or vnc etc.

    New through bolt AD

So can someone please clarify exactly what category of aircraft must comply? I am sure 24 reg must, but what about VH(no casa AD) or 19 reg?
  23. For effected engines that haven't had the nuts replaced in a LSA read and weep........ http://www.sky-craft.co.uk/pdfs/Jabiru_Service_Bulletins/JSB031-2_Engine_Through_Bolts.pdf
  24. Probably all you list seqfta, but matters little as all are in the unenviable position of being members of an organisation that is unable to provide the core essense of its existance: aircraft registration
  25. Thanks very much for all the local info crew, will be making my way north soon so will be dropping in on the friendlies.....
