  1. update, hmm bit sus..he can,t find the log book, and says its some where in the hanger? ha claims he called RAA and was told to have a stat deck signed,? he has still not found the log book

i am awaiting his call to go back out tomorrow (im not comitted as only put a $50 deposit so no big loss..)it suggested I say "if you fly it !..... I'll but it! ", if he's willing to put her in a curcuit im willing to fly her home.

we'll see tomorrow reg is 19 - 0174 but still can't find it anywhere. this maybe why he can,t sell it.....Im starting to think it may be chinese = looks strong and pretty on the outside but really made of spegetti & tissue paper....

  2. Greetings Flyerme As you have a bit of time prior to inspection, I'd suggest you canvas fellow RecFlying 'forumites' on these pages as whether any of us have specific information on that particular aircraft. You wouldn't go amiss by posting it's RAA rego Nr (I can't make it out in the ebay photo) and current whereabouts with a general query about "who knows what?" with regards it's background/current state. Unless it's been flown solely off a private strip all it's life, someone is bound to know something about it's history and flying record. Despite there being some 10,000 RAA members around Oz, recreational aviation is a pretty small world and, because we're always talking aircraft, there ain't a lot of secrets. Have fun & good luck. Cheers Riley

pretty sure its reg is 19 - 9174

  4. Murray bridgeI'm the l2 at Rpa flying school and training to be an instructor.

ah murray bridge, ill be shoping there tomorrow ..done a bit of Jabi flying their in 2005 and 2010 with Mike Chapman. and a lot of plane spotting..lightwing? I watched a lightwing take off last time I was at murray bridge in october last year, think it was after my fav plane the AT-802 which used the grass...wonder if it was you? i commented to the wife on the short takeoff and great climb out he lightwing had.

I think it may have had 2 stroke?

i was keen on the green gazelle in Mikes hanger but couldn't come up with the funds but hoping this Supercat in wellington turns out legit....finding it hard to get info on these lil ag lookin thingies

  5. it did have a 502 in it and was replaced with a 447......Ive heard mixed reviews? some say the design won a few awards and is an excellent all round performer suited to short rough strips, but then i've heard they had pitch problems? so I want to know if this is going to be suited to my needs, ie...short rough strip handle the wind ,alway blowing around 8 knotts and have no unwanted suprises.......I like my planes predictable ...

  7. This reminds me of the Javelin forsale on Ebay.(I used to be a part owner in one nearly twenty years ago). Anyway It was for sale for about about 14K. I asked a friend of mine who is on this site his thoughts, which where the same as mine as what it is worth. So I sent a message to the bloke, saying "you are kidding mate, at best it is worth about 5K with the trailer". Anyway it is for sale now for $4200 I think with no bids.Disclamer- this has nothing to do with the supercat/bobcat forsale. It looks like a good price. I thought I better share this , because some people ask WAY to much for their aircraft.Do research.Sorry Flyme, I have Hi jacked your thread,I have looked at the advert, and to me sounds good.I live in QLD so to far for me to look at it, if down the road I would have given it a serious though of buying it .

Hey Dazza, yeh I seen that javelin on there about 12 months back with $4800 on it and it didn,t sell and back on again..I ve been watching this supercat on ebay for 7 months ,made a few offers and finnally agreed on a price$6**0,00,it all looks the goods but you know what they say...too good to be true!!!!!!

that was awesome....just ask my lil feller, although, im pretty sure my smile was bigger..... you guys made my day..no wait ,,,,make that my week....what a lovely aircraft you fly and how you handle it so well ..

wind was 9-10 notts sth with up to 13knott gusts, I sure as hell would not want to be up thier in my thruster..lol full 90 deg x wind like that would have me 60-70 deg weather cock but your jabi looked to be handling just fine...hmm I may be becoming another jabi fan...lol

    thank you so much

take it easy and keep smiling

  10. What are powerlines, trees, fences and other obstacles like...? Anything to watch out for? (Im a little too far away so I can't visit any time soon.. but the more info about it the more prepared we can be 041_helmet.gif.78baac70954ea905d688a02676ee110c.gif.)

nothing but paddock wst end,4ft fence 10 mtrs before start of stip. est end needs a slightly higher approach as their is 20-30 ft trees 60 meters before runway (road tree line) and a motor bike jump est end 10 mtre before start runway.no powerlines obsructimg as they run parrallel with runway nth side 200 meters away, runway is typical dirt strip(not smooth but not too roughth2.jpg.10336560ea49ade87798a5a1b9bbc442.jpg note: west end landing again(perferred approach)old tree seen just off left wing tip. is .GONE!!!! will take some better pics today for you guys make it a 100% clear , also plenty of room ech end for run off or ground loop( always too the right.)

  11. Hey Flyerme, I think your place would make a nice 'Beginners target' for nav training. I might even try to find it myself the next time I fly. Mind you, using GoogleEarth, I found Sherlock but couldn't find your strip. Where should I be looking? How far out of town are you?

ok,if you find sherlock again on google earth our property is easy to spot,.you will see sherlock town, looks like a square of scrub.then to the left west side you can see a triangle property, corner property, dark green with a sandy track running est wst. that track is now the runway (google earth not updated here since 2005). you can,t miss it . NO RADIO PROCEEDURES, IM THE ONLY AIRCRAFT IN AREA, NO TRFFIC PATTERN ,WIND SOCK LOCATED 1/2 WAY BETWEEN FENCE LINE ,ALONG SIDE OFF BTCHUMEN HWY (WHITE), ALSO STH SIDE MIDDLE OF RUNWAY(BLUE) ALSO

10 METERS WEST OF HANGER LARGE ORAGE SOCK. HOPE THAT HELPS

  12. MOV5D8_0001.jpg.5c14a27fdcd8d1067469f84c562c010c.jpg yeh I thought a jabi might find it a little short, ....on google eath we are the little coner property about 500mtrs wst of town ship you can make out a sandy track running est wst ..thats now the runway..

Note: runway is wide and clearly marked with white markers. and is DIRT,......skinny old runway black ,gravel- no go -over grown and unsevicable and too skinny,

    RUNWAY clearly visable

take it easy and watch for me in the air...........

  14. I s

I've mentioned it before in this forum, if a big hairy huntsman spider starts running around in my car I just keep driving and ignore the bugger because one day it could happen in the plane. One cannot jam on brakes and dive out the door when flying. I would however, rather a mouse run across the dash than the spider!

I second that...im spraying the cockpit now
